Spark plug change

I am thinking of changing spark plugs in my completely stock F80 M3. I am thinking of going with NGK 97506, do those need to be gapped? Or can I just use stock gap? Can’t seem to find an answer. I have also been seeing posts about using Bosch 8165, they are 8 bucks on Amazon. Please help!

It's already preset at 0.028. Some recommend gapping to 0.020

For stock engine I would not touch the gap, mine stage3 s55 have 0.022 gap.

Stock engine = Stock gap 0.028-0.025"
Plugs stock or NGK
Buying pre-gapped plugs makes it easier.

I buy my NGKs from FCP Euro and gap myself. FCP has lifetime replacements.

I am looking to get Bosch from FCP euro… are they legit? Are they oem plugs? It does not have any bmw logo on it and can't seems to find mfc numbers, but the website says they are oem

FCP Euro is completely legit. All parts are authentic, and I've used their exchange program over and over.

The authentic OEM Bosch plugs come under the BMW part number, same for the NGK Flex Fuel (F8S) plugs being BMW. The 97506 (D8S) plugs are NGK part numbers.

To look up real BMW part numbers we use RealOEM.com

Why are ZR5TPP330A so much cheaper compared to ZMR5TPP330? One is high power (M one) the other does not say it.

I am pretty close to returning them tbh, but price difference is crazy 6 vs 30 per plug

One has a bmw part number and comes in a bmw box and the other one is identical but comes in a Bosch box.

I just changed my air filters. I got one OE and one OEM due to what they had in stock at the time. They are the same part from the same factory but the BMW one cost 33$ while the OE was 12$ less.

Thanks for the information it is helpful. But I guess my question is if anyone used those 6 dollars plugs ZR5TPP330A and how was the experience. The price here is not 30% difference like in filters but 5x difference…

Just FYI for anyone who will be asking those questions next time, they do work. Just installed them the other day and everything works perfectly. I was paranoid that 6 dollar plugs would be fake. They are not, exactly same ones as you would buy at dealer

Thanks for sharing! I did a lot of research and was concerned previously too, but I did end up buying the same Bosch plugs and just haven't had a chance to install them yet. From everything I read they are exactly identical, just missing the M markup.

I was going through the same dilemma and since I am new to M3 world I was freaking out about not getting something that had the BMW OEM Logo. Before I proceed I want to add a little disclaimer that I am not affiliated with Turner motorsports or FCP Euro. I have bought parts from both companies and I am very pleased. That being said this is what I purchased:

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-5...plug-set-of-6/

I purchase these based on price and them being pre-gapped.

Here is awesome video that discusses the difference between OEM parts, OEM parts and aftermarket parts. It helped put my mind at ease whenever I decided to Make my purchase. This video was very helpful to me and I hope it helps you out as well.

Completely understandable. I've gapped many sets of plugs and it's not the easiest thing to do exactly right. If FCP offered pre-gapping that would be a nice added service that I'd be all over. I use their exchange program so I must gap them myself.
