Alpine | Exhaust Sound Tuning Video Clips

Hey guys just wanted to share some video clips of changes I made to the exhaust sound through our OBDII tuning. I'm not the best at recording sounds or video clips so please bare with me!

So you guys can get an idea this first clip is our stage 2 stock exhaust sound with stock burbles

In this video I have adjusted the standard exhaust noise and increased the burbles allowing for louder burbles. The burbles also adjusted to work up to 90mph (stock is 50mph.)

As you can hear some of the rasp is gone and the exhaust is deeper sounding. The car sounds different in person vs recordings but you can get an idea of the change comparing the videos. Both videos shot back to back, the camera nor the mic moved at all. You can see the trip miles on the car.

Not saying we will get close to V8 sounding E9X's but the future looks a little better! HA

Great work Alex. Is there a way to do stage 2 with a deeper tone without any extra burbles?

Yeah. You can keep stock burbles or no burbles with the tuned exhaust noise.

Thanks for the clips Alex, were these recorded on a car fitted with a standard BMW exhaust?

I’ve got an MPE fitted to my M3, just wondering which would be best for me, the standard tune or the one with the beefed up burbles?

I would like to know too. Stock ones seems to have the best burbling with the tuned exhaust. I'm gonna try hearing the videos with earphones tonight to really tell the difference.

I'm curious how burbles are tuned? Did BMW include some sort of coding for this in the car?

It is custom tuning. The burbles can be increased or added via tuning

Hey Alex, quick question if I may. I’m on the fence about getting a tune, and it’s mainly to increase/improve exhaust sound. Personally I do NOT like the burbles. I think it just sounds messy and not very pleasing. Maybe a little overrun is ok, but I hear too many Ms rolling around here in SoCal area with obnoxiously loud farts. Just my personal preference, but any rate,

Is there way to increase the sound level a bit and maybe lower the tone, without the obnoxious artificial farts spewing? Little bit it ok but not more than let’s say how CS/CP M3 would produce on stock runs/exhaust. Would you kindly let me know?

Thanks in advance.

Many people are running it on stock exhaust, the difference is deeper and less raspy exhaust noise. Everyone is happy with the exhaust tuning

Sounds great with the stock exhaust.. Exactly as Alex has described. Deeper with no rasp...much smoother tone...
