My Range Rover Autobiography Sport last year came with these. They look fine to me. My M3 doesn't have them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to put them on or anything though.

I have the LED lighting package but feel like the courtesy lights are very dim, esp compared to the door lights on the exterior. Can we swap the bulbs to brighter leds?
