Which begs the question, at what point does the typical human body become negatively affected by such violent acceleration and braking? We haven't reached the apex of these mind-boggling performance machines. We can all agree on that.

i think the human body can hold up to the G's current tires can achieve, even with downforce. the issue might be more so processing speed of our brain.

The videos on that car are insane. A good watch at least once for someone who doesn't know anything about that "funny looking" car. I would love the opportunity to try it out on a track just for fun.

For my M3, I'll probably do intake/tune/exhaust. Not for the power, but for making the car sound better. F8x achilles is the sound from the factory. A good intake/exhaust combo can make it sound pretty darn good. Then, IMO, just need a tune (stage 1 is fine) to make sure everything is calibrated properly. My E63 is claimed 690hp/800tq at the crank. I can hit a 2.9x 0-60 (per draggy). No way to do that on an F80 without drag radials. Then, IMO, you're missing the point of the F80. Different strokes/different folks and all, do what you want with your own car, etc. but that's my opinion.

I know exactly where that is.
Was just across the street a few minutes ago at Starbucks (I'm a regular there). Last time I saw, that shop had a Yellow RX7 there. They also messaged me on Yelp when I was searching for an alignment as I got lazy about driving ALL the way to down to West End lol.

For real… if this quest for insane acceleration continues, cars are gonna have to come standard with a HANS device

I launched my 992 C4S last fall, I didn’t time it, I’m guessing it was low 3s to 60. Maybe I’m getting older, but I think that was about as far as I want to go with a launch. More than that it ceases to be fun for me.

Honestly, I think about 3.7-4.0 with a great launch on a stick is about peak fun. Getting a perfect launch and 1-2 shift in the M2C was so satisfying. I can imagine a little quicker in a quicker car and it would be perfection. But sub-3 range with an auto is just meh.

I love my F8Xs of course, but I still say my most fun cars to drive were my Z4Ms. They hit that perfect balance of being quick, but not so fast that really wringing them out made it unsafe. They had just enough HP where you could flog them wide open without putting yourself in serious danger. The F8X cars are beyond that on public roads.

fun read for anyone bored this Friday. Basically Jason Cammisa (of Hagerty) put a not so great review of the G87 M2 out. Forums got their pitchforks out. He responds to everyone on page 3.

most of the G line just looks rough around the edges and is still expensive, so most owners are constantly ready to defend it, plus there appears to be a lot of first time ///M owners in g8x cars.

Honestly, part of the reason I am growing tired of BMW is the "enthusiast" driver set. It's become some sort of mash between old prick Porsche crowd and offended woked out snowflakes. I've driven the G82 and I have a G80, they don't touch the F87 in feel or fun factor. They're objectively better and faster but they no soul. I imagine the G87 is no different in that regard. I have no qualms saying that.

Lol. I think it’s just moment in time. Needless to say, the brand is trying (too hard) for the super aggressive styling approach. It’s not like the new gen is a pos. I drove a G82 and could not get used to it. Had a Mustang vibe. Kind of embarrassing. Probably my own insecurities haha. I saw a TB g80 on MPHAS with fjord blue interior yesterday at the dealer and it was the best one I’ve seen; like if I didn’t have an F90 I’d be considering it. It was sweet.
Despite selling mostly trucks, the thing about Porsche is they always keep the weight of the vehicles in mind, and build all of their 911s in Germany. People appreciate that, they are really fucking expensive. I also think most porsche guys also have bmw(s). They are older and knew bmw when they were a more raw rack and pinion product, so to speak. so there will always be benchmarking when new performance bmws hit the shores , just like anything else.
