BMW sure likes these worthless carbon roofs for some reason. Imagine wasting an excessive part of your BOM cost on a plastic roof that is sprung weight and has almost no impact on the car. They look cool, but I'd prefer they spend the money on something that actually impacts the driving experience.

Definitely - I think it won't end well for many, plus all the trading volume is limiting capacity for normal people and the shorts gotta sell their longs so it's bringing down those positions too. All in all not great IMO.

There is this very kind man in twitter who had open heart surgery just a few days ago. His car is broken down, could we find a shop that fixes it cheap and ill figure out a way to pay for the repairs.

He seems really depressed, and I've known him for years via twitter (he just keeps getting banned and has to create a new account.

Thanks man, I bullied the info out of him. Its a few hundred bucks and kindly told the bloke to stfu.

The guy went through his work truck breaking down, needing an open heart surgery and I paid to fix his work truck already earlier on(let it be known i sent him an amazon gift card and he sent most of it to a single mom he knew since I sent him too much, that was 200 bucks.)
What broke him was that nobody cared about him, to be fair for me too he is just another handle online. We just don't care these days.

Yesterday we had a poker night, a first for six months. Since none of us can play poker, what we did was to drink a few bottles of whiskey in my livingroom while we complained about our kids.

It is 10 am. My liver is screaming at me. I'm never doing this again. It is clear that nearing 40 means that although I have a ton more to say about my horrible kids as they also had about theirs, none of us can handle alcohol anymore. The spouses did however enjoy their traditional morning texting session where they discussed the states of our hangovers.

Now that I've written this, I'll go back to my bed and keep dying. The next time we try this I'll just find this post and remember this feeling and stay at home, preferably alone.

Yup, right around 40, we decided to spend Thanksgiving in Cali as a friend had invited us to his family's big gathering. Our friends job was to set up and stock the bar in the garage and he liked his booze so there was ... a LOT.

Anyway, night goes on and the amateurs start leaving and a group of us "kids" move into the garage with the drunkles and the G&Ts start flowing. Man I learned a ton about silicon valley in the 70s - some of the dudes there were the originals that started the first chip startups! It was super cool. At some point I stopped feeling drunk - it was weird.

Anyway, some of the drunkles started getting in trouble as the clock struck 3a and eventually a crew of us car pooled home. On the way back my wife said, "geez you're pretty hammered" and I was like "what?? really???"

The next day was probably one of the worst of my life - i seriously hadn't felt that shitty since I had mono in 8th grade. And sympathy was NOT in any supply

I more/less quit drinking after that.
