Fan still on for few minutes after ignition is turned off
My MY18 M3 fans would run after I turned my engine off, but after dealer replaced my oil pan gasket and valve cover for an oil leak my fan turned off when I turned the car off. What's really odd is if I leave the car sitting 1,2 or even 3 days the fans start blowing as soon as I turn the car on for about a minute and turn off.

Usually if the climate control is set to auto with a/c engaged it will cycle on the you start the car then cycle off unless the a/c is needed to treat the air.
As for it running when you shut the car off.... it is still cooling down the coolant temp since when you shut car off and coolant stops flowing it tends to heat up quickly in spots Last edited by horsepower_and_hounds; 06-20-2021 at 01:53 PM.. |

Back in the days there was this thing called a turbo timer, people bought this just to keep the cab running valor a few mins to cool down the turbos, this is a built in solution to cool the turbos
