Oil changes if tracking car

I track my car (2018 M4 Comp with CCB) at least once a month Spring through Fall and put about 5000 mi/year on it. I normally have the oil changed once a year in the Spring. I took out an extended maintenance warranty (primarily for the brakes), but the dealer (my dealership just turned over to a new dealer owned by a large company; everyone I knew there is gone) said that BMW just changed their recommendations from mileage or once a year to only mileage. That means they'll only change my oil every two years, regardless that I'm tracking the car. Anyone familiar with this "new rule", or is it BS? They also told me my brake pads are 6 mm front and 8 mm rear, but the previous dealer measured them at 5mm and 6mm, and that was before my last track day. I now measure 4mm F and 5 mm R. Anyone know how I can contact BMW directly, or should I just get a second opinion from another dealer? Thanks!

I haven't heard of the oil change being mileage only instead of time. It should be CBC based off what the car says.

You should go to another BMW Dealership.

I would do a blackstone used oil analysis after X miles at the track and determine how much life you have left on the oil for track usage. That is really the only scientific way to tell how well your specific oil is holding up to track usage and how often you should change the oil based on track time.

Change it whenever you want, avoid the dealership. It's one if the easiest vehicles to do an oil change on period.

I find 5w50 works best for on track. And change it every hard or endurance track session. You can get away with it for every 2-3 easy to moderate track sessions.

Go buy the oil from fcp and pay once then warranty it when you buy replacement oil. I prolly change my oil 3x a year and still have only paid once.

On track minimum stout W40 oil. Minimum!
5W50? I think it depends what oil temperatures you are running. Grade is not as issue as HTHS. For example Mobil1 5W50 has same HTHS as Redline 5W40, except with Redline you will get lower KV100 and with that less parasitic drag.

Do you mail the oil back in a USPS flat rate box?

For me it's 32 dollars. Doesn't seem that feasible for me unfortunately.

Pay for the return shipping via pay pal and you can have it refunded. I think it's up to $300/year?

Are you talking about this?

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/returns

So basically pay with paypal and use paypal to pay for the shipping?

A oil change kit is $60 something, you would still be saving $30. Add diff fluid, tranny fluid, brake fluid, wiper blades, etc to the same package and you save more.
