For a weekend car, Cup2s are fine. If you daily drive it and you have a big rainstorm, the Cups can be annoying

MP4S are fantastic on the street and work fine on the track for beginners

MP4S will do well overall. The 4S will do better, as most tires do, if you lower(induce camber) or buy camber plates on GTS for use at the track, I have tracked mine on at stock height and obviously that has worn out the outside faster than ideal set up. The 4S will give you about 80% of the confidence of the Cup 2s IMO. CUP 2 will get you those few extra seconds and cornering G-force.

I just installed PS4's and light rubbing on drivers side but a few moments later and some minimal wear on the wheel arch cover and we are in business lol. Not sure if mine is an isolated issue.

I run 4S' for the everyday wheels (it rains a lot in Austin) and RT660's for my track set…IMO if you're not tracking your car get the 4S'. What I'm really interested in is the new star spec 4S tires on the new G80, but you'll have to run a 275/35/19 for your fronts. Apparently it takes some of the compounds from the Cup 2, see video below.

I watched that just the other day. I hope my tires last until the 5s comes here.

I've run both and the Cup 2 (240) Star Spec is a better tire compared to PS4S star spec. You'll get much more responsive steering and feedback. The PS4S feels lethargic in comparison.

I didnt enjoy PS4S on a road course. Stick with cup2s or get a dedicated wheel set with 200TW tires.

PS4S will be a huge downgrade and not worth compromising for track events...

I would consider the Goodyear Eagle FG1 Supercar 3 and 3R as well.

Options:
Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 265/35/19 and 295/30/20
Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R (standard sizing)
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 265/35/19 and 295/30/20
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (standard sizing)
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (standard sizing)

I daily drove my M4cs on the PSC2 for 3 years. It’s the tire my car was delivered with. I never had any issue with them in the wet, they were actually much better than expected. On a very wet track day, I used them on track and I was the fastest car out there. On the street, you can’t really fully exploit the additional grip they provide over the PS4S, but what you do get is much more direct handling response and increased feedback that livens the driving experience even at sedate street driving speeds. They are noisier though and are pretty bad when the conditions are wet AND cold. I still liked the PSC2 so much that I replaced them with another when they were worn after 2 years. I also now daily drive my 911 on PSC2. Since I can no longer schlepp my track tires in the car, the PSC2 serve both street and track duty and they have been doing very well.
