It’s such a bummer since it is a really cool car in so many ways. Extremely capable and fun to drive for a relative bargain. Which I think is the problem, wrecked by Ford’s cheapness/bean counters.

Sorry, I guess I didn’t really say on my post clearly - that I caught COVID and I’m stuck at home since 12/29. Feeling much better today. Caught from my son, who is vaxxed btw. He got symptoms on Christmas Day and passed along to my entire family, vaxxed and non vaxxed alike…

Yeah how about we keep politics, conspiracies, and anti-science out of this thread.

it's acceptable on track cars and imho, it looks great on the shark blue gt3 w/black wheels.

or maybe it's because the car (992) appears to look longER relative to its older (991.2) sibling from the side view.

it's either that and/or the concavity of the wheels. It depends on the build I guess. I don't hate the pinstripe

I definitely think it depends on the overall build (…color, wheel selection, aero options, etc.).

I’m not the biggest fan of pinstriped wheels, but I agree with you that the best looking ones are all build specific. I think they’ve looked good on builds that aren’t already very busy looking. As a practical alternative, you could always install a rim guard in the color you wanted pinstriped, which will add the pinstripe to your wheels and also acts as protection

I'll probably just leave my wheels alone. I ended up scrapping the RS Spyders after I saw a Chalk 992 on RS's at the local mall. I didn't like it all. The colors competed too much in the same color space.

I seen it on GT3 RS cars. To match the color of the car or to match the contrast stitching. I'm honestly indifferent to it. Don't hate it but wouldn't go out of my way to do it either. Maybe because I prefer to do something like FI-R then to do that.

First rant of 2022:

I don't get random people or even random car enthusiasts who ask what car my costs. Like, mate, if you've got a modified E36 slammed on its tits and I park next to you and you ask me "how much" instead of literally anything else about the car because, you know, we both have got modified BMWs, ya need to reevaluate your life.

Even a simple "dood, why are ur brakes so squeaky" would have sufficed.

Here's a better one, with the line I usually take on that corner when there's no cars on the grass , gotta ride those curbs
maybe there is room for improvement … there seems to be about 1-2 cm unused next to the grass field

I am past the apex at that point though and starting to track out. Is the one below better ?

Joke aside, it is mostly about the outer wheel placement, where you want to keep them in that cambered groove in the asphalt just before where it meets with the cement curb.

excellent!

Yeap I can totaly visualize loading on the right two wheels and track out transition after apex in that image. Beautiful shot and driving!

one more comment - why no gloves as a safety item? I feel I can grip the wheel better and am more comfortable with gloves in addition to fire protection. I mean racing gloves not leather.

I've never felt the need for gloves. I find they add an extra isolation layer between my hand and the steering wheel. And with alcantara steering wheels, there's plenty of grip even the hands get a little moist.

OK agree on the steering feel but still no fire protection. After seeing my friend's E90 M3 front left brake on fire it became mandatory safety item for me.

Mine buys me even food, so no.

Depends what exactly you're trying to get, but it seems legit enough.
