Have you tried reversing into your space? I feel that would be much easier.

I see you have special parking needs.... I have to back my car into my driveway because there is a dip right on the entry to my driveway. This reminds me of that because you have to be careful every time when entering it or you will scrape (never scraped it ever).

I also see you have exec pack make sure you use it!

oh yea, we have a big dip. imagine driving onto a 5 inch curb then having to drive down that and at the same time going up my driveway ramp...its like that. when turning into my car port, the rear left and front right tires are hanging in the air
the front left and rear right are touching the ground.

to prevent the scraping two things were done. 1) i added asphalt patch to the curbs to give a steep ramp (better than just a drop) and 2. keep it in sport+ suspension helps.

heads up display and park distance control/rear view camera is awesome and a must. we even have parking assistant, but that doesnt help for this and we havent used it yet. if you look at my picture, the fiberglass poles are about 6 inches from the wall. hit the poles and you know its time to hit the brakes

i think that might work for me. but not sure about the wife. i will investigate this weekend. our ally is so narrow, that the direction you enter dictates how you pull in and out.

Love the strategic placement of the pool noodles. Like parking a boat. Good luck, that looks tedious to park.

Mine never lurches, you just quickly tap accelerator and it creeps forward.
Doesn't sound like you know how to use the slow speed assistant. Try it out in the street , it works great.

Did you have the dealer activate Lurch Control at breakin? That would help a lot

Another thought on this topic is that you should just not park your m4 there and find something nearby.

My first thought is move lol

Visiting Philly the other day though reminded me that still might not be much of an answer though =\

I played with creep mode in this car during M track day. You definitely have to retrain yourself how to drive with the DCT in these cars:

Tap accelerator = creep
Full stop + foot on brake + Engine off = park
Full stop + N + Engine off = no park
Full stop + light foot on accelerator = lurch
etc etc lol

Yep. The car won't lurch forward unless you tell it to. You have to whisper to the accelerator, not squash it like its the giant Australian spider that guy had in his trunk.

And, once you get the car moving with a very slight tap, it will happily roll on indefinitely with the engine at idle speed. You can even switch between 1st and 2nd gear to choose slow creep or fast creep. Plus, as long as you don't bring the car fully to a stop, you can further regulate speed using the just the brake.
That spider still gives me the willies. I don't know how I could drive that car wondering if that was inside somewhere

How about reversing in the spot and knocking down that wooden door/gate? That way you can open your door more easily.

Wow that's a tight space! I couldn't imagine the stress of getting the car in and out of such a spot.

That's it. The op in this thread is the man I want to become!

I truly wish I could have the life that would allow me to park in that alley, of to live in a house that had that. Kids, dogs and a spouse who loves hating cars means I need space. Driving through that the sixty times a day it needs to be done to be me, means that I would be getting really good meds from the idiot doctor who is after the first day also my best friend.

All of those who suggested creep mode are spot on. I used it in the E92 and I use it in the F82. Works like a charm once you get it down perfectly.
