After my 1st & only test drive (in the M4) last year I didn't bother test driving any other cars.
As far as I was concerned it was time to finally realize my dream after 25+ years. I haven't driven the M4 with the DSC off yet. (BMS stage 1 with MDM off is enough for now). I usually drive like a bit of a hooligan and prob gives other BMW drivers a bad name. "Look at that Martha, another asshole in a BMW!" Not many of my other friends are car guys and I don't need to be in the spotlight so I tell most of them that my new BMW is a 4 series.

My confession is when I tried to quickly overtake a cyclist in second I nearly lost the back end as I gave it close to full throttle when nipping round him. You have to treat the power with respect! Another confession is sometimes on sunny days when around town with windows down I turn sport+ throttle just to get more exhaust burble |

I'm considering the Dinan stage 2 and their CAI. I have a Dinan tune on my 335i that I've been running over 100k miles trouble free except they had to scrub it and reflash it one time when it was acting up but that's all free when you purchase the software for life. What are your thoughts on the stage 2 tune? Do you feel a noticeable difference? Is it worth the cost and would you do it again?

I second that. It can get awkward really fast.

Guy at Autozone today came right up to the car before I got out and started looking around the whole car closely. When I got out he started asking questions and we talked for at least 15 min BMW talk. I like that the car invites this appreciation from others. I am not bothered by it at all. I'm not looking for any attention but if someone wants to talk about the car I'm all for it

Have a few confessions on my own.
The neighbour is building a pool and has workers in at 6am to late evenings and over the weekends. Since he struck rock you might imagine the noice/racket that makes, and especially not appreciated during the summer holiday. I have been seen (and heard) leaving the area with open flaps and with gusto, at hours beyond my normal travel pattern. Revenge tastes sweet... Secondly I was passed on a major road by an i3, and didn't mind it. At the time it was raining buckets and I was floating along at legal speed, and that car overtook me on its bicycle wheels. Thirdly I can admit to swearing more often in the car. The others are mostly so damnably slow it is annoying, but worse are the Volvo drivers who just have to pass in low speed areas. 10 year old turbos with 18-yearolds behind the wheel seems to appear out of the asphalt just to do some really dangerous driving around me... At least they get to tell that they passed an M3, and are oh so very manly because of it... So M3 driving is character forming, if you can stay calm! Last edited by Znabbe; 07-17-2016 at 03:18 AM.. Every time I walk up to the car to get it, I think "Hello Gorgeous". I've even said it out loud a few times.
I keep it in Efficient on the block, so when I get to the corner, I flip to M1 (Sport+, Sport, Sport, D3) and off I go with a wicked grin on my face. I search for "better parking" spots like the end spot or a spot where I can cheat to one side to avoid door dings. I've even left a few strip malls where the spots were all tight... there's always another subway.... I go on drives for no reason or take the long way. I've always secretly wished the "ring road" at Roosevelt Field Mall could be closed for a 'track day'. What a blast that would be! |
