Hope so, it is a very very pricey M4 variant.

Think you would be in a better position after 6 months after release to see where they are with price. I had an f10 m5 which was only one of 30 and it dropped 40k in 6 months . Which is when i bought it.
Would be only a collector car after 10 years or so. |

I don't think it matters what other cars you can buy for the money or how you can upgrade an M3 to be better for less than a M2 CS. At the end of the day it is an M2 CS, that's the attraction and they will all be sold pretty quick. Money wise...only 'you' can answer the question.

They are producing thousands of them over the next 2 years, I have to say I'll be astounded if they all sell out in short order at 90k+ I've started to have a look at the Alfa QF add the seats and a couple of options and it's 65k I saw one the other day and it looked fantastic I might be through with M cars.

I think they are only making cars to order, over a two year period, so there will only be as many cars, as there are orders, if that makes sense ?. Its funny, because since the announcement of the M4 CS, for the first time ever, ive been questioning BMWs thought process, and their pricing strategy, or lack of it, and i find myself a little jaded with it, and so may venture onto pastures new myself, next time around. |

Anyone remember over supply of E46 CSL's hanging around dealers forecourts for months?
I imagine BMW will build a load of CS M4's and expect UK BMW to move them regardless . I am happy to accept M cars are subject to discounting since I buy their cars at a price point I am happy with. Once you look at BMW list pricing I would buy a 991.2 and at 90k a 997 GT3. without a second thought

A good friend of mine has been accepted for one of these, he went to the dealership a few days ago to talk finance and from 92k the residuals after 3 years were £33k lol

The residuals are quite bad. Not £33k but £41k after 3 years and £37k after 4, although some would argue sometimes it works better to have a low one as your more likely to have equity in it at end of term. Providing it holds/stabilises well. I'm not saying it will mind you! Would keep it for longer otherwise lol.
Do I think a normal M3/4 will lose more money after 4-5 years? I do actually. I've not decided anything yet. It's a fair chunk of change for what has been already mentioned just an "M4". It doesn't quite make sense, but there is something exclusive about it which is appealing to me. If there was movement on price I wouldn't hesitate but let's wait and see. Pricing is madness. That I agree. Last edited by takumichinoku; 06-28-2017 at 02:06 AM.. |

I'd say that residual figure is pretty conservative! Sounds like they based it on a regular M4!
When I purchased my 1M in 2011 the residual value after 4 years @ 10k miles per year was £12,700. It would have been worth £35k-£40k. Nice little saving scheme. Shame I sold it after 2 years at its lowest price point. |

I think ultimately this car is great for people who don't mod or don't know / want to. Still overpriced if you know anything about what these parts should reasonably cost, but meh, BMW knows how to make $$$ lol.
