Finally going to fit this at the weekend - it needs drilling which is ok but I think I've read somewhere that those plastic flaps that just sit behind the bumper need trimming down?

It's a EBay copy not OEM

I have the OEM (plastic) one and yes, the plastic deflector panel needs trimming on both the rubber and harder plastic material.

Took some time o get me head around it but the OEM kit comes with a template to help you cut. Could be tricky without.

What does the template look like?
Page 5, parts D (drilling centre section) and R (cutting the sides).

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...8;d=1416178907

First time around I couldn't figure out how to lay it out but it then made a sense after the first cut!

I'm away at the moment but if you want a copy made/cut I can have a look when I'm back next week.

I've printed out that guide and will give it a go over the weekend.

Sure between me and my old man we can sort it......

Also I've bought the splitter and the two L shaped covers for the front intakes - which one goes on first?

The 'L shaped' covers being the Carbon corners I assume?

If so, fit the lip upper carrier piece first (if the carbon lip has one of these? If it - ignore this step!) since it goes inside the bottom of the bumper and you do lots of pulling around of stuff.

Then fit the carbon corners.

Then fit the lip - you need to drill through the carbon corners to fit the plastic rivets so it helps keep them all true.

I seems to recall the bits you need to cut go back on last anyway so you can get the whole job done them spend the time playing around and fine tuning your cuts. A Dremel type tool worked best for me.

The splitter is a one piece job so I'll test fit that first of all and then the corners.

I'll be starting 8am tomorrow and it will probably take me all day

Did you remove those plastic trays completely and trim them off the car and refit them after the lip was installed?

Think I've sussed it out....

Nope... I think I've worked it out but off down to Silverstone for the WEC shortly so will do it next weekend.

Might need a copy of that template though...

My splitter is one piece and need some longer screws as well.
