I'm thinking of fitting mine without carbon "inlays" maybe just getting that bit wrapped gloss black.

Splitter delivered and hopefully going into shop next week

The OEM lip must have the carbon corners since the cutouts in the lip are made to fit the (slightly thicker) parts.

Perhaps aftermarket would work.

I was trying to find an M4 at Silverstone today that had a splitter so I could take a gander.

But NONE had one fitted

I’ll have a look, was told that the lower splitter would be OK to fit without ?
Cheers

Interesting - let me know how you get on. You may have a slight gap.

I have also purchased the lip only as I believe the OEM carbon lip can be fitted without the carbon corners/"splitters" which is odd given general assumption and being told it cant be done and would be similar to the OEM plastic lip where it would leave the gap.
...However there was a Yas Blue M4 CP for sale that had the carbon lip only a while back without any gap and this was a close up picture so maybe there isn't a gap? and a random guy on YouTube "SnewJ" seems to have the carbon lip only setup as well on his M4 - see his video for reference as he shows you BMW got a full kit fitted for him as a goodwill gesture. I've yet to try fitting mine but keep us updated how it goes for you.

Here's a picture of mine with the corners. Logic suggests since the lip touches the bottom of the corners AND the bottom edge of the bumper at the side, that it shouldn't fit.

But perhaps you can just tighten it down more to make it snug.

I'm just about to post up a set of corners for sale if anyone needs them

here's some pictures to help... the blue M4 seems to be lined up perfect however the white M4 you can see where that fitment hasn't been lined up as well since you can see the holes.

Looks like the 'gap' I mentioned is more that the original bumper (without carbon corners) doesn't reach the front edge of the cutout/shaped part on the lip rather than the lip not reaching the underside of the bumper.

This could just be an issue of personal preference.

Agreed. Seems like it can sit further back behind the raised contour which looks okay whereas the plastic oem lip would look terrible if you did this. The sweet spot seems to be getting it close enough to the raised contour so you don't see any holes.

Took some time o get me head around it but the OEM kit comes with a template to help you cut. Could be tricky without.
@MarkG_M3CP thanks for the template - will it make sense when I have a look at the car on Saturday?

Bloody hope so

The key for me was to line up the hole marks in the template with the fixings holes on the deflector part. Then it makes sense.

All you're doing really is cutting off the front bit and despite being super fussy you can't even tell once it's back on the car!

The only part you'll see when it's refitted is the rubber piece that hangs down - so measure 2 or 3 times, offer it up and cut just the once!

I'm sure you'll be fine but if you get stuck drop me a message.

Appreciate those , see what you mean, although it looks OK on blue one. I’m leaning more towards carbon now , but cost is a bit more .

Hi MarkG_M3CP is this the right way ? The bit that says align with holes in deflector doesn't quite make says though but I take it I'm just cutting out the cardboard piece effectively?

On the wrong side I am just cutting out the lip at the front of the deflector?

Hard to see on there tbh - you don't cut the whole cardboard part out, just along the front edge!
