PS Cup 2 VS SuperCar 3 for Daily/Track Use
Unfortunately, lack of storage space means I am stuck with one set of wheels for this summer. I currently have PS4S tires, and while as a pure daily set it is fantastic, on the track they fall apart, and get really greasy. I am looking to do about 2-3 maybe 4 track days this summer and 2-3 autocross events, but also about 6k-7k miles within the next 6 months. I am looking to find a tire one step up that gives me more grip in the track, but without taking too much of the full 200tw tire pitfalls (noise, wet driving, street longevity). I'm aware I'm going to be taking some hit on those categories regardless compared to the PS4S, but I'm just going to suck it up this year until I move to a place with more space next year to be able to have a second wheel set.
That being said, I'm looking at two options. I have the PS Cup 2's (The 240tw one) and the 220TW Goodyear Supercar 3's in mind, both 265/285 in 19 inch rims. I've tried to read as much as I can on both tires on bimmerpost, but I was wondering if anyone has any insight on both tires or can vouch for either one that could last me at least 6k miles on the street and a handful of thrashings on the track and autocross this year. |

I've ran multiple sets of CUP2 almost 20k miles, with 5-6 track days. They are not the best choice for autocross, as they need a bit of heat in them to turn on. From what I hear, the Supercar is the new fastboi tire.

Can't comment from an auto cross point of view but but I dual dutied continental extreme contact forces and they were good on track and decent in the rain.

I’ve used PSC2 on street and track but no SC3 experience. The PSC2s are very sensitive to heat but if you manage hot temps they performed well but stickier options are out there like the RE71RS, A052, AD09, etc.

Sounds good! Cup 2's seemed to be a really good choice of aggressive street tires that can hold up decently on the track looking what everyone says here, so if I'm not confident about the other options, this one should keep me happy for this season.
I've considered the extreme contact forces, as a buddy is currently dailying + tracking in a set and hasn't had many complaints. Kicking myself for missing the buy 3 get 1 free deal for that. Additionally, a priority would to find a nice set of camber plates to help with evening tire wear to help with lifespan. |

From memory, they are more sticky at street temperature, on track they were very sticky and consistent, didn’t really feel that they overheated and became less grippy during the session. They also wear in a better way. The cup 2 are great but i feel that after 1 or 2 track days they runs like shit in the street.
Next for me is nankang crs or bridgestone re71rs |
