F80 acceleration noise

Question for you guys. I have a 2018 f80 and for some reason while I'm driving i get this whine noise from the inside of the car. It kinda sounds like when you put a music system in your car and you get that feedback noise. Has anyone else had this problem. Only when I step on the gas tho. Thanks in advance

Yo!

Is the sound system on or off? Does it go away when you are coasting or holding speed? Does it correlate to RPM or road speed? DCT or manual?

It could be a few things really. But these cars make all sorts of noises so maybe if you can help us drill down with some more info we can help ya get close or send you in the right direction.

It's a dct transmission. The noise only accurs when accelerating. Let say I'm driving in manual mode I get to 3k rpm,let go of the gas then switch, the in between when I let the gas go and switch is when u can clearly hear it the most. The car has 40k mikes on it. I turned off the active sound to see if that was it but it wasn't.

Thanks for the info,

Hmm. That is odd. As when you are shifting I would think any driveline whine would go numb as you let off the gas and the gears have less force on them.

Does it come from one spot or direction? Like behind you or right next you or in front of you?

I am sure others will chime in soon.

As I let off the gas when switching gear u can hear it whining down. I hear it on my passenger side front. I left my phone under the hood to see if it was coming from there but that wasn't it either. I feel like it's coming from the speakers but idk

Do you have anything plugged into the aux. input on the car? I only bring this up because I used to get a whine in my VW golf. I found out this was noise from my phone plugged in and charging. The charger was a cheap one that resulted in feedback through the output jack. When I got a better charger this went away. It's a stretch I know but worth asking.

If you want to isolate audio (ground loop) you can try unplugging the amps (audio and active) and see if the hum goes away.

Could be driveline noise from axle/ rear diff. You can search as I believe this has been discussed prior. A lot of rabbit holes you can go down though lol.

Pull the fuses that run the audio (if possible) and test.

Is this happening at freeway speeds? At 70mph under light/med acceleration I can also hear what sounds like speaker whine coming from the rear.

My guess is that it's a loose ground somewhere in the speaker system. Haven't yet had a chance to dig in.
