Ferodo Racing ds1.11 cracked

Hi,

This is my first set of proper track pads and i loved how they felt on the track. Consistent performance all day long.

Ive done the bedding procedure as per their site prior to my track days.

Cooldown laps were done after every single session too.

Ive done a total of 3 track days with these pads.

Is the visible cracking normal?

Thanks in advance

Yes - normal.

I run DS2500 and get the same thing

I also have a set of DS1.11 ready to be put in. I'm doing a track day in 4 weeks - can report back if needed.

I use DSuno for track, they are always becoming like this but didn't impact their performance so far. On the road, I use ds2500, they didn't become like these so far, I believe it can be related to sudden temperature changes and maybe material difference.

Yeah, those look fine. When they start smearing and turn rainbow colours from the heat, then you have an issue. I did that to two sets of Pagids. Never again.

Mines are like very reddish, when you say rainbow colors, do you mean that? What would be the implications, should I have to change them? Last ones got like that and I still went ahead till they end without a problem? :

By rainbow, he means many colors and an almost slick surface. It looks like there is a layer of soap on the surface because some of the material melted. Those are fine. My Pagids look like that too.
