Now lemme tell you more about my candidacy for the supreme leader of the universe. I still have vacancies in my cabinet and I'm totally willing to bribe people but you seem to be a man so great I should ho the flattery route.. To be clear its, 9.55 pm here and my kids told me to drink the champagne instead of making them clean up after a celebratory opening of one.

So you're saying trump did that all on his own without any infrastructure...
Epic. You're all going to die.

Make me FCC commissioner. I will make cable and telcos our bitch. They will be paying you for the rights to run fiber to your house when we're done.

Hey, so let's say someone pays you to build something like, say, a wall. But then you only build a small part of it, and then you get a new boss who tells you not to build the wall anymore.
Do you owe them a refund? |

They should also make them put back all the dirt/mountain they blew up in the process and ended up not putting anything there.

I heard the guy that got hired to build a wall got his qualifications by installing a big flagpole at someone's golf club. Someone thought because they got a lot of flag pole for their money they were going to get a lot of wall. Turns out we just got a lot of existing wall replaced and only a few miles of new wall installed. That was a great deal wasn't it?
A wall doesn't stop anything...

I've put up one flag pole when I was 6, one when I was 13 and I spent a day trying to correct one originally put up correctly once. When I was six, my grandpa wanted a flagpole to his summer house. He did the fundation, my job was to find a straight tree to cut down and to put on the rock. All went very well, the next summer we started to haul it up, we peaked the log the year before, we painted it the next summer. I was extremely proud of being a part of this project. A flagpole is not expensive or heavy. A wooden one is both it turns out. Ours was perfectly painted and for solstice we had the whole extended family there to help us out to life it up. It was tall and not so heavy, a perfect pick from me might I add. Since this happened in the late 80's, there were no power drill to use there at the summer cottage. My grandpa tried to use a hand operated drill while everyone was trying to hold on to their dear lives while the only wind seen in a week hit the site. Two seconds later, thunder struck. A a flash hit our location to the only tree higher than the one we were desperately trying to hold up and that's when my uncle and my dad told everyone to drop the polar and to let it fall to the direction they chose. They did, the pole decided to start falling on me. It missed me, thanks to the rocks surrounding us. Later in life I've thought maybe giving this a second go wasnt so smart but learning is no fun. So my mom needed a flag pole to our yard. That was like a 13m tall, but unlike the one in the cabin, it was a modern one so light and agile. I like the thought of learning from my mistakes so I absolutely joined the effort. There were no rocks to plant the fundation on so I and my dad dug a hole, 1 m by 1 m by 1,5m deep.we did it, not allot of bitching or us screaming each other to report. We found the foundation to be dry and nice so we mixed the concrete and shoveled that and the bars to the fucking hole. Since it has been the driest summer known to men up until we poured the concrete, we decided give it a month to dry up before installing the pole. Sadly that was a tsunami month when it came to rain. The concrete dried up for sure, the land came all lose around it on a flat surface. We spent a year trying to rectify our mistake until we decided to build a grill on the fundation. The only thing burned on it was the fucking flagpole. The third flagpole incident in my life happened in this house I currently own. It was a bit crooked when I bought this place thanks to 20 years of trees distorting the fundation. Since I had the tools, the ability and the common sense, I decided to fix it myself. The only thing I really needed was to get a bolt loosen up a bit. So I got my ropes and used those to swing it around a bit. It's made of steel so it could take it. I sent the kids inside, and tried to open the bolt again, and the whole fucking thing just became dust. To be clear, the pole landed on my mother-in-laws car which she decided to roll up my driveway on that moment. Everyone lived, even the pole didn't bend so I quietly hauled it back up, hired a truck to take the Mil's car to the junkyard and bought her a new one that day. Since the next day was a solstice again, this time I was 37 years old and wise, I decided the crooked yet working flagpole was good enough and I'm playing so safe this time around I will not even haul a flag up for anything. That one solstice flag thing was enough. I can build a wall though. You guys should send the trump guy to be my apprentice on that, and to fix my flagpole.

You know how on the internet someone comes up with something pretty funny like:
and then you get some others, also good, like: But then someone does something truly majestic like: Those are the times that remind me, hey: maybe the internet *is* useful. |
