Mid june for me. He'll see it closer to lease end, some folks have said 90 days prior, mine didn't appear until 60ish days before lease end date.

You can not get a discounted payoff until your lease end is within 120 days.

Is this discount due to the pandemic? Does anyone know if they will continue to offer it summer of 2021?

Mine is June 30 and I just bought it two weeks ago. Price and APR are really good from BMWFS now

According to BMWFS when I speak to them 3 weeks ago, they are constantly giving buy out discount but very every month

2020 M4  [10.00]
Congrats to those who pulled away with some great incentives to keep their vehicles.

In the Annual General meeting held the 14th of May, chairman Oliver Zipse explained that the outlook for 2020 looked "bleak" and that markets (such as the UK and the US) would be slow to recover.

Hopefully this is an indicator that BMW will continue to offer purchase incentives to current lease holders throughout 2020.

At this point, we also know that while 2018 4 series gets 3000 off, the 2018 3 series gets 5500 off. And a post on another forum shared that 2018 5 series/M5 gets 7500 off. So it's basically predetermined depending on model and year, no room to negotiate, but does seem to get us a pretty sweet deal compared to market rate of similar used cars.
My account shows $3K off for my '18 M4 as well with lease end late Sept.

Has anyone seen it increase from $3K to the max $5.5K we've seen in this thread? I'm dumping it at $3K.

I later learnt that the discounts are predetermined so there's no point waiting unless something very significant changes on their side. See attached chart from a dealer friend.

I decided to go ahead with the buyout and also CPO'd my M4 today. Had to leave the car at the dealer for 1 day. Very happy with the final deal.

Depreciation hits them like a brick. They're constantly at dealerships for ~$20K CPO.

A lot of lessees actually want to buy out their i3, but the residuals are way too high compared to market, so this makes sense.

Thanks for posting this.... Interesting - wonder why the 2017 4 series is the highest discount out of all the 4 series model years

Perhaps the best RV compare to other year model when they were leased out

BMW NA cancelled thousands of customer P1 orders last month, personally my 2020 M4 vert order was status 111 and purged. There is self inflicted damage by BMW AG due to over estimating the factory production capacity.

Are these basically new due to Covid or is this how this works normally (obviously amounts could vary)? Are these amounts in line with normal or is this driven by covid?

In dec 2018, bmw was giving a 3k rebate on my 340. The residual was 40k and market value was around 32k. Market value prob has an impact. They rebate it such that it is a deal vs residual, but still higher than market value to see who bites.

How did you get your car CPO'd? What process did you use? Direct with BMW FS or did you use a dealer? Can you walk us through this? The ability to get it CPO'd would be huge consideration for us.

Would your friend happen to know if BMW will extend these lease buyout discounts through 2021?

Thank you,

Anybody know if this discounted lease buy out option is the same payoff a dealer would see if say I was trading this in on a new model? I called BMWFS and they said it should be, but they cannot provide me the quote the dealer would get because I am not a dealer. The dealer on Sunday said they pulled my car up on the system and my payoff was the residual plus my last two payments, but he did say since it was over the weekend he would give BMWFS a call when he can back into the office today and confirm what it is for them.

In theory yes it should be the same, but in practice, I have very often seen the dealer seeing a different number at first sometimes off by a random amount like $200 which makes no sense other than buggy software I suppose. Easiest way is to give the dealer your payoff doc and they will work it out with FS.

Did some more digging, if you trade it in BMWFS requires you the payoff to be residual + remaining payments. The customer discount option is only available if you yourself refinance it or send them a check in the mail.
