I've ran VRSF Downpipes/Stock midpipe/Remus axleback. It removed the cabin smell and i was able to run BM3 Stage 2 on my F80. The sound was too quiet and "hollow" sounding. To make the stock midpipe work with the remus axleback you have to enlarge the midpipe to remus connection and get different clamps. Simple enough if you have the resources.

I removed the setup and went back to stock dp/remus non resonated mid/remus axleback.

I don't know if I would go back to having catless dp unless theres a way we can put cats on the midpipe or dp to reduce the smell. +still sound good

i suggest you get catted DP + REMUS axle-back and keep your AA mid-pipe. I ran that setup for a few years. It sounds really good

Hmmm any clips of that setup? I don’t see point in getting a Remus muffler as I already have a Fi one sitting in the garage.

Ah yep I’ve had stock DP with Fi-exhaust and that imo was perfect, no smell, loud, deeper at lower rpm and a change in tone. Thinking of running the catless DP with stock mid and modify the muffler of Fi to fit to stock midpipe.

I run resonated down pipes with stock mid and Dinan axle back and it sounds fairly good. Doesn't draw any attention with catless smell either which is nice

I run ER Catted DPs. The sport cats remove the egg stink, but the exhaust still smells like fuel (running rich) all the time. I feel sorry for the guys behind me at the drive-thru.

Strange Mike...I run the full AA Signature 3.5in kit which has a 100CPI secondary cat. Your AA Single Mid + Remus doesn't have secondary cats. I get more smell than you. Do you leave preheat on (cold start)? Or do you run E85 which doesn't smell like Gasoline does?

I ran it with pretty much every setup without any smell
  • AA single with 91 octane
  • AA single w/ full E85
  • Equal Length with full E85
  • Equal length W/ Full E85 and no cold start
