First performance mod, what would you do?

I have a stock 16 M4 competition DCT... what's the first performance mod you would take on?
Software/ exhaust/ downpipes/ etc...

Appreciate the input.
Thank you,
Jeff

Hub fix with CBC, then Bootmod3 Stage 2 OTS tune. Tons o fun and nothing to break!

Bolt ons provide minor increases.
From stock tune to Stg2 is like:
Holy crap!
Now I need fatter tires...

If you looking to get the most power for the money, definitely upgrade the charge pipes and get BM3

Not performance based really but get an equal length midpipe if you like a traditional straight 6 sound - completely changes the street driving experience of the car

Yes, I recommended the hub fix before doing any Stage tune. CBC adds $100 to a $3K hub fix and basically bulletproofs it.

If you have warranty and want to keep it then don't tune. Just drive hard and have fun.

I have the stick shift and hated no rev-match in Sport+, which got me tuning...

Gotcha, now I just have to find someone near Raleigh here to perform the hub fix. I don't mind spending the $$$ to have it right. It does have an extended warranty for 3 years from now.

Consider that once you tune it they won't warranty anything, even if you flash back to stock. It's a new thing how BMW can detect it for sure.

If you have warranty you can drive like a crazy man. They should fix just about everything.

I have an equal length mid pipe coming that will be installed in the next few weeks. The 2 shops I’m looking at in the area are Bimmer Performance Center and G3 Automotive and will post feedback.

I can say that I paid about $3K for my Hub+CBC and it was the best money spent, even though it added no power. Knowing that you're engine is bulletproofed?...priceless.

If you don't plan to put down serious power, a CBC alone would suffice. A lot of us are just using a CBC only. $80 for the part and 2 hour of labor. There is a giant thread regarding this topic.

I went with AA midpipes — SSR intakes — BM3 stage 1 — ER downpipes — BM3 stage 2 — CBC — BM3 E30 tune —ER chargepipes —Cary Jordan E85 tune

I just got my car a handful of months ago.
Right off the bat, I did a custom PETuned Stage 1 ECU Tune via EcuTek and RK Autowerks 4-pin Crankhub. I probably could have sufficed with the crankbolt capture, but I intended on going Stage 2 E85 right away with maximized torque.

Goal was to maximize safe performance and this got me there. Car doesn't look or sound any different than stock for the most part, but the gain in performance is all sorts of crazy!

What's a "CBC"?

Congratulations!

* A set of BMC Air Filters
* Secondary Cat. & Resonator removal and/or an E.L. Mid-Pipe.
* NGK Plugs
* Charge Pipes
* "BM3"

In that order.

If you're doing a hub fix you add the CBC for sure. It's a $125 part and install should be no extra cost (or $50). It will keep the hub bolt from coming loose.
