Post 2016 M3 Build

Well I just received an email from my dealer and my M3 is first in line for a September build.

Really stoked to finally get this going.

Still trying to decide if I want to lease or buy. Kinda leaning towards purchasing as this will be mainly a daily driver that will see very low miles (5000 or less) annually.

I also figured that if I'm going to go with an individual color I'd be more inclined to keep it for the long haul. I'd most likely have it sent to a local xPel dealer to have it clear wrapped in an effort to protect the paint for years to come. That would also mean I could modify the car without needing to return it to stock when I have to turn it in.

If I end up purchasing the car I would keep it for 6+ years or longer.

My build and planned modifications are as follows. I'm probably leaving out a few things, but here's pretty much the majority of it.

Build:
2016 M3 F80
6MT
Full Black Merino Leather
Executive Package
Lighting Package
Driver's Assist Plus
Parking Assist
M Performance Exhaust
Adaptive M Suspension
Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit

Immediate Modifications:
Window Tint
M3 Black Badging (Maybe)
M Performance Carbon Shiftknob
Carbon Fiber Seat Shells
Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Trim
Aluminum Race Pedals
Black Kidney Grill
Black Side Markers
Painted Keyhole Covers
Rear Carbon Fiber Diffuser
Painted Front/Rear Reflectors
ACS Lowering Springs
Cold Air Intake System
Dinan Stage 2 Tune (to stay warranty compliant)

Future Modifications:
Downpipe
Offroad
Wheels/Tires
Dinan Sway Bars Set
Dinan Rear Suspension Links

I'm open to everyone's thoughts on the matter so don't hesitate to chime in.

Thanks in advance!

Any reason you don't want to go with the Dinan spring kit with your other Dinan parts?

I'm not opposed to the Dinan Spring Kit. Just thought ACS was a good choice after some researching on this site.

Dinan's would be an easy addition since the local Portland BMW dealership is an authorized dealer/installer.

The DP and off-road pipe are "Future Modifications"....i.e. After warranty is up.

Right on! I'm stoked to hear that. I have yet to hear it in person, but think it will be a good port-installed option to have. Especially since it would be covered under warranty/rolled into the financing.

As for color, I'm going with Laguna Seca Blue.

Congrats. Very nice build.

I never knew that we can order the MP Exhaust directly from the factory and have it installed. Is there a reference on the board that lists all the different options that don't show up on bmwusa.com when configuring the car?

Thank you!

Yes, apparently any of the M-Performance parts can be ordered at time of finance/lease and the cost spread over the duration of ownership.

Keep in mind these are port-installed options and will be added to the vehicle once the car has reached the states.

Other port-installed options include the black kidney grill, CF spoiler & diffuser, etc.

You could probably roll Dinan performance parts into the cost to help spread it over the course of ownership too.

I'm sure there are quite a few people who are "first in line" so best temper your enthusiasm until it actually happens. It's going to be a VERY long wait my friend. But well worth it! Congrats!

Yea, I totally know what you mean. I've honestly been waiting patiently for some time now. Was first going to go with a 2015 build, but after hearing about the new additions to the 2016 M3, I decided to wait.

Also missed out on the July & Aug allocations, hence the Sept build out.

Regardless the wait, it will still be worth it in the end.
