Puncture

My tyre pressure warning went off this afternoon.

I noticed the culprit when I was checking pressures. The photo below is the off side front - is it repairable?

Is it advisable to repair even if possible? Thanks.

That looks outside the BS guidelines for repairing a tyre, just get a new one or pair if you've had them on a while.

No point spending 60K on a fast car then bodging the tyres.

Thanks for the posts. I agree that a tyre repair does seem a bit of a bodge whether repairable or not. Interesting to read your opinions on this though.

This is the second puncture I’ve had in 12 months and the last time a repair was an option I declined.

However, replacing just one rear tyre was a bad call as the car now pulls to the left when it breaks traction.

I think in this case I will replace both front tyres. Question is whether to stick the Contis or switch to the PS4S.

In one year I've already managed 2 sets of rears and 1 set of fronts thanks to punctures (although the rears may have had other more 'frictional' reasons for being replaced too..). I can only agree with Wills2, I personally wouldn't want to be pushing on as usual with a repaired tyre.

Nothing wrong with a proper tyre repair in principle, I've had several in the past with no problem at all.
However as Wills points out, you are not supposed to repair tyres when the puncture is too close to the sidewall.
No tyre repair shop should offer to repair the tyre in the OPs photo.
