"Chassis function restricted" - Lowered with Swift Springs
So I just got some Swift Springs installed on my 2018 F80 M3 ZCP. We are getting a "Chassis function restricted" Warning. No M buttons are working.
The fault description reads; "EDC: Signal voltage on the vertical acceleration sensor, rear left, is too low" CODE 482A2A (Permanent) "EDC: Valve Coil - rear left, open circuit" replaced the sensor and still same warning. Has anyone experienced this after lowering? I'm wondering if it has to adapt to the new ride height? Need some help before I take it to the dealer and get blamed for installing aftermarket components.

Open circuit means unplugged. Plug in the top rear left. I'd bet you didn't get it on all the way. Your going to have to go to dealer and likely have it coded out and set ride height. May get lucky and it will clear after.

They are sure they plugged it back in. I'm wondering if it has to go to the dealer for coding. Is that common for a dealer to code ride height?

just did my springs yesterday, plugged battery back in, fired it up, throwing the chassis restricted light...will try to run diagnostics to see what the code is.
my question for the OP is...the rear sensor is not even touched during the spring install, why was disconnect etc? its the front you need to unclip from the top strut nut and off the strut housing so you can move the strut from out the fender well to pull the spring. very confused by it throwing the code for damaged rear sensor...? |

"for some reason"???? those sensors/cables are easily broken. check the cables carefully try to find something broken. You will probably see something falling apart. |

I've just replaced my front left acceleration sensor and cable but still getting this error - I've tried unplugging and reseating all the cable I can see attached to the shock with no joy?

What I noticed is that the top of the strut where the sensor plugs in is damaged and the sensor won’t lock in place which causes sensor to disconnect while driving. This will then give the chassis malfunctioning code. I tried swapping sensors and the same thing happens. This confirms that the clips on the inside of the strut are broken for me.
