Interesting video of the Apex M4 aftermath driven by F1 Legend Robert Kubica!

just watched this earlier today while I was eatin' a hamburger. I'm glad they did that video after watching Kubica slay everything on the road in the M4. It's pretty amazing what a stock-ish M4 with the Robert Kubica modification can do on a track. All jokes aside, a good set of coilovers, track pads, and R-compounds on an M4 makes it a pretty impressive track car for what it is.

I was super impressed as well! No BBK's, upgraded turbos or any of that nonsense, and surprisingly considering the amount of track miles this M4 gets. No crank hub issues! You can see an interesting thread in one of the Youtube comments where Robert Mitchell and Mischa address the crankhub stuff. Suffice to say they don't really buy into it lol.

It's refreshing to hear a mechanic who truly knows what he is talking about .

They did add 1 additional detail:
They believe it might be necessary once you cross 580 hp (the limit they had tuned their cars to). But the Kubica M4 was stock tune. |

Yeah I just read that too. Which I think falls in line with the amount of power some people make here north of 700HP.

Yeah, for the life of me, I don’t think >600hp is usable on the street. The stock setup is already burly enough; a slight tune is probably enough for kicks. For track, more power isn’t the answer; likely better driving (as demonstrated by Kubica )

I hear ya, my unskilled self has enough trouble trying to rein in stock power. Which is exactly why I refuse to do power mods (although I do a shit ton of cosmetic mods!). I want to learn how to become a better driver.

Front bearings are one piece with the hub. But it's 4 bolts and super easy. Shouldn't take more than 15-20 mins per side moving slowly. Rear is much more involved. A experienced tech can do each side in 1.5-2hrs tops (assuming nothing is seized). With the right tools, can be done at home around 5 hrs total. They will charge you for something obscene though. Probably 8 hrs. Skipping obvious steps but very loosely: Drop axle from diff. Press/pull hub off. Push axle out of bearing. Press out the old bearing, press in new. Reverse steps.
