Spring Install Price

How much should I expect to pay to get H&R Super Sport Springs on my f80 M3?

I had a HAS kit installed by the dealer for about $600 so yours should be less than that.

3 hours so 300$ is pretty much the price to install springs

I posted this elsewhere a couple of days ago, but it's more relevant here

I was just quoted 6 hours to install KW HAS (including alignment) and 7 hours to install anti roll bars. At over $100/hr labor that adds up.

Thoughts?

It's a local independent with a lot of BMW experience as seen in the picture

Are you located in the Philly metro area by any chance? I'm trying to find an independent shop to do my spring install and would love to know if you've found a trusted installer.

Included high adjustment, alignment etc.? That's cheap for a dealership.

KW HAS takes about as long as a coilovers. Max I would say is 3.5 hours including adjustments and w/o an alignment. If wait about 200-300 miles of driving to allow the suspension to fully settle in before getting the alignment done.

I did not get alignment done yet, waiting for it to settle and then going back.

estimates from 4 reputable shops, and one dealer, ranged from $800 - $1800. not helping - there is not a lot of experience in lowering these cars in our area and the reference manuals used state it's an 8 - 10 hour job.

i have eibach v2s ready to go in and considering against it given the cost.

exactly same issue here eibach v2 waiting to be installed and the indy shops are quoting me crazy prices, lowest i got is 600 without alignment.

I expected around 300 as it cost me that much. The reference manual is the culprit.

When i went last month to my bmw indy shop, they install swift springs on my f80 m3 and also installed an autosolution short shifter kit, car was in at 8:00 am and out at 14:30

They charge me 6 hours for everything, the mechanic told me it was pretty much 3 hours for each modification

i dont get this, is the NE indy shops more truthful and efficient to install springs in 3 hrs @ 300 bucks vs the SE market where top notch aftermarket shops are quoting me 8-10 hours of labor at a ballpark price of around 800. They are telling me installing springs takes more time than the coilovers and front takes more time than rears.

$250-300 seems about right. $800+ that some of you have been quotes is insane as are the hours quoted. A competent shop can easily do this in 2-3 hours, maybe less. Hell someone posted on here recently that some shop in California did his in 15 minutes lol.

If you are in an area where shops are limited and you are not getting any reasonable quotes then I would suggest posting in the regional section of the forum to see if someone can either point you to a local shop you are not aware or even install them for you as this is a simple job that anyone who works on cars could handle.

When I got my springs done I pulled in around 3:30 pm, springs + spacers + alignment were done by 5 and I was out by 5:15. I did have this done at a place that works on my friends e36 instead of a dealer/big name shop. No problems.

I call another shop and the guy says he will take around 4 hrs to install but will charge based on book time so it would cost 800, how ridiculous is that? Atlanta shops are pissing me now

Garage List
I had my eibachs done for $360 in less than 3 hours. I think the reason some of you are getting such high quotes is because when you look it up on their system, it says 9 hours or something like that. I guess body shops have some computer system that tells them how long something takes to install. If I remember correctly a place that quoted me $1000 showed me on their computer that the rears take 2 hours and the front 7 hours.

I ended up going to a shop that does these all the time and it was quick.

In Oregon shops also go by the book time, so minimum $700 or so. I'd like to know if anyone knows good cheaper shops.
