lease cash is the same, so it's one of those weird times it's better to get a 2021 over a 2020 unless there is more than a 1% discount over the 2021

great question!
Thanks for the info. The 2021s are all super optioned out to outrageous prices, that's why I'm looking at the 2020.

Thank you!
They've stopped doing ED at this point. Who knows when it will return. They're not even doing Spartanburg delivery now.

Wife and I are looking to purchase an X5, but undecided if we should lease or buy one.
Any feedback pros and cons? Also, any potential discounts right now? I am in San Diego, CA. Thank you and appreciates any advise/help.

The only time I recommend buying is if you are out of the 10k-15k miles per year allotment

Also, BMW artificially inflates their residuals so you are paying less depreciation on the lease and also paying a low MF (apr equivalent) so it's a win/win for the customer.

There are certain makes and models where it's either/or for finance or lease, but BMW is definitely a lease.

The 1 exception is the M2...must buy M2

Unless you own a business and can write off the lease, in which case the M2 leases just fine. And since the OG M2 had just plain old seats, and plain old mirrors, and a plain old engine, making it just another plain old BMW, it makes a plain old decent car for visiting and taking clients out to lunch ;-)

Great thread BTW, wouldn't be surprised if we hooked up somewhere along the way on a future M car...

Yes these M340s are in high demand so YMMV. Here in the Northeast, it's 9-10% all day for inventory or ordered ones.
I'm looking at ordering one of these to lease in about a month or so. I am in MA and saw you could recommend someone?

Thanks!

9-10% is an amazing discount on the M50s, both of which are in short supply.

Don't forget the base MF of .00082.

No, there is no hidden money

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/money-factor.asp

it's the finance charge on a lease

the rate should be .00082 for October...dealers sometimes mark this up to make more money off unsuspecting customers

Just wanted to take a quick minute to express my appreciation to Dan @ Next Level. I wanted to wait before making a decision on the new M3/M4 so decided to look at buying one of the M4CS's still in Dealer stock around the country. I was not getting far with a dealer closer to home. Reached out to Dan who quickly found me a car but also gave me some additional tools to make the deal I was working on better.

Ultimately I did not buy through Next Level but he was a huge help and ultimately with the tools he gave me I did get an M4CS much closer to home.

I offered to pay him for his time which he declined.

Super stand up dude and if I can do business with him in the future I absolutely will!

Oh damn this is amazing!

So happy for you on M4CS! It's the best M car I've owned so I know you will love it!

Thank you for the high praise! I'm extremely humbled by it, and I hope to help anyone here just looking for some advice on how to know a good deal when he/she sees it.

Best,

DK

10-12%
.00082 MF or .9% finance charge

If they have them left, they probably aren't giving them away so it may not come close to that discount

I always tell people that the business model for BMW is that they want to sell every car twice. And Incentivize the process towards that model. Many examples of how leasing and then buying as a plan makes more sense that buying up front.

I'm going to start using that instead of the "artificially inflates residual blah blah"

thank you!
