This whole thing will be over quickly when it hits the Senate floor. The senate has the ability to vote for dismissal before any witnesses even get called.

That's definitely what Mitch wants, but we all know DJT has a taste for theatrics. He will surely (have his lawyer) call Hunter Biden, Schiff, etc.

I've seen a few articles like this......

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/1...t-trial-070667
McConnell suggests he will not cut short impeachment trial
"We should give people an opportunity to put the case on," he says.

Iíve said for a while that the Rs will want a long trial and Schumer will negotiate to shorten it, if this gets to the Senate. Reason is a long trial knocks all Senators out of the running for the Dem nomination by pretty much killing their ability to campaign in Iowa and NH. That tosses the nomination to Biden or one of the other non-senators.

Let the rumbling and grumbling begin.

Schumer to colleagues running for White House: Impeachment comes first.

It should knock out Warren and Sanders. I think that would put Biden in the drivers seat, with Buttigieg and Bloomberg as dark horses. So even if Trump is aquitted, Trump will (most probably) have to face a centrist democratic candidate. I give Trump only a 20% to beat any of those 3. And that's if the black community stays away like in 2016.

This. It's actually probably a net positive.

That's a good point, I certainly don't disagree that Trump may want to try to let this play out.

Honestly I'm done with all of it. Let it die.

Would you care to give a different opinion of what Congress meant?

"obstruction of congressional or administrative proceedings (18 U.S.C. 1505), "
Doing what is legally within your right cannot be construed as obstruction.

The article related to the abuse of power has merit if it can be proven that he tried to hold Ukrainian aid specifically to get dirt on a political rival in order to subvert the 2020 election. I haven't seen solid evidence of that yet - but if it shows up - then yes, in my mind - that is an impeachable offense.

The obstruction article is baloney.

I'm asking you to explain what the Dems are referencing by the obstruction charge not whether or not you agree with it.

Which is exactly what should happen. Finally nail the coffin shut on the Dems.
Because over half the country supports trumps impeachment and removal?

I predict Bloomburg will (perhaps uninentionally) hurt Pete's chances, pretty much guaranteeing a Biden nomination. That's bad news if you're a die hard democrat, because only Pete really has chance to beat Trump. Bloomberg is a psyco and just another rich white male. barely viable. Biden will lose to Trump. The man is demented and not fit for office. I've said it before, if you know anything about dementia, you know a person can drastically change over the course of a few months. Imagine the off the wall shit he'd be saying in 2 years. If you think Trump is bad, you're going to have fun with creepy Joe.

Not that it'll ever happen. Unless something really unexpected happens, Trump will get his second term.

Really? Have you seen the number of people who attend Trump's rallies. But go ahead and believe your propaganda media outlets. They got it wrong in 2016 and will get it wrong again.

When I get a call asking me who I'm voting for, I always say I'm supporting a Socialist Democrat. However I intend to vote for Trump again. I know many other people who do the same thing. So go ahead and believe that Trump only has a 20% change to win. You're going to crying again on election night 2020.

They're not enough. Don't forget that Trump won because he was not Hillary and not because he was Trump. This time around Trump will be the acting Hillary in the pant suit.

Trump is toast if enough GOP voters simply refuse to cast a vote.

This is what's wrong with the current Republican party. If you're a free thinker, you're a swamp rat. You've got to be ride or die for Trump.
