2015 48k looking to buy advice

Looking at a car its a 15 plate 1 owner and done 48k. In not sure what is classed as normal annual mileage these days I do about 4.5k a year. I remember old days use to be 12k a year.

Questions is would this mileage put you off?

Also what additional things should i check. I presume these are chain so no cambelt at 60k or 5 years

Just looking for some advice really.

Cheers
Lee

I picked up a 64 plate with 43k on the clock and had no concerns about the mileage at all. As long as there's a service history and receipts for work done then 30k or 45k should not be an issue. Don't forget you'll be able to check the MOT history online (it should have done its first MOT by now at that age I think).

I'll only do 3 or 4k a year in mine so if I can hold onto it for a couple of years then it will have done less than an average of 10k a year.

Take a test-drive and you'll soon get a feeling for what sort of condition it's in - mine still feels bullet-proof like you would expect from a BMW less than 4 years old.

Got to move quickly! In terms of mileage my view is cars are better for being driven they don't like short runs and being stood around seizing up on the driveway in all weathers.

I'd rather buy a well looked after late model high mileage car than an older low mileage car as time/age is the killer not miles.

As to what to look out for there isn't much with these cars but I would look to get an LCI model as they made a few changes to the engine/dampers and software.
