Get an E63 Wagon and it balances the two together.

If Mercedes is on your list I‘d think jstein55‘s proposal is the way to go (if your tendency goes more to estates).

I‘d agree completly with CanAutM3: RS6 is more refined an comfortable. Its my choice for long distances on the highway. However it lacks a bit engagement.
Here comes the M5c into play. Its more of a beast and hooligan but in my opinion its a bit too understated.

Did you forget wagon m3?

I think even with ugly grill I would go that route.

I love RS6, M3 IMO will be more of a fun car and faster for sure

Idk, the RS6 also sounds great and will be very rare. I also don’t think the M3 Wagon will make it to the USA. Need to see grills in person but not digging them.

It wasn't forgotten, its simply unavailable to us in the US. Also this thread was created before the M3 wagon was known to exist.

Idk, just not a fan if Mercedes. I test drove and took a loner C63s home for a week and then an F80. F80 to me was 10x the car minus the V8 sound. Just wasn't impressed with the Benz. But, I'm sure the touring is a different animal.

You might not like the M5C then, that car is dead in all feeling. Incredibly fast but numb in the corners. I prefer this generation E63S simply because it actually has some soul to it unlike the M5.

I've drove the M5, I enjoyed it a lot. It's blinding fast in a straight line and doesn't have a ton of feel in the corners, but I still enjoyed it. I really love my M3 to be honest. It can be so tame and then so angry.

I am not sure an F83 will be faster than an RS6...

I concur with CanAutM3, I’m not so sure that it would be faster than an RS6 either.

F80 m3 with good launch can keep up somewhat, awd will walk all over it, similar power and lighter weight.

Say what???

RS6 will have 90hp more for maybe 300lb over an F81 AWD M3, power-to-weight advantage will go to the RS6...

I believe he's saying the same as you.

A lighter F80 sedan with good launch might keep up with an RS6 but a much heavier F83 stands no chance against the RS6.

I dont see how a 431/450hp F80 will keep up with a 600hp RS6, even with the weight disparity...

Ok, so an equally powerful m5 walks away from rs6 with relative ease.

With added awd on m3 its performance will obviously improve.
Especially how bmw underrates it's Perf numbers

Don't take it as gospel as it is carandriver but they clocked your CS 0-60 @ 3.7 and RS-6 is quoted as 3.5.

Regardless I agree they are vastly different cars capable of different speeds.

According to German rags, looking at 100-200km/h acceleration:

~7.6 F90 M5competition
~8.4 RS6Avant
~9.3 F8X M3/4competition

So the RS6 slots about in between. According to this post, the G8X M3competition does it in 8.6, so an AWD F81 M3competition will more than likely be slower due to the added weight...

Audi have alway been very conservative with their quoted acceleration figures. Autobild tested an RS6 at 3.3s 0-100km/h without a one-foot roll out as American publications do, so that would equate to a sub 3s 0-60mph with a one-foot roll out.

Agree. Yet every comparison it gets slaughtered by M5 and e63 AMG wagon. So that makes me think that's it's closer to m3 territory.

I just showed you the numbers, the RS6 is slower than the M5 but faster than the M3

M3 numbers are speculative for now
