Dealer erased my Euro MDM and Anti Dazzle

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2016 M3. I bought it used and the previous owner had Anti Dazzle and Euro MDM enabled. I had to take the car to dealer today so they could perform a service bulletin to keep the air conditioning from malfunctioning. During the drive home I noticed all the coding I did with BimmerCode was gone including the coding the previous owner did with the lighting and MDM.

I was able to get my stuff all back the way I had
It with BimmerCode but I don't see anywhere to activate the anti dazzle and euro MDM.

How do I get it back?? I love those options. They work great.

Do I need someone to remote code it with E sys?

Can it be done in "expert mode" on BimmerCode?

Any info is appreciated.

I have no experience with BimmerCode, but it should have created a backup file of each module you coded. You can restore those files to get back the features you coded. If the AD and MDM coding was done in any of the modules you coded, they may be restored as well. If not, you'll have to get someone to do it remotely if they're not local.

I tried to restore the backup but didn't get those features back.

I PM'd another user for some info but it's over my head.

Hoping to maybe have someone do it remotely. Or just suck it up and learn.

You can't restore them because CAFD is different after update.
They could be easily coded though.

Thanks

Your lucky they didn't charge you to correct the coding prior to doing the software fix for the a/c or refuse to fix it all together. I think you made out fine. Just recode the car or have it coded

Oh that's pretty cool--might have to look into that. Anti-dizzle.

Oh wow ok. I'm glad they didn't give me a hard time about it.

I drove the car tonight and seemed to have some version of anti dazzle working. More at highway speed and not as dynamic. Just dropped the left high beam off and moved the right off to the right side. And at slower speeds it was more like full on or full off high beams when other headlights where detected. I'm wondering if just the FDL codes got changed but the VO code for anti dazzle is still in there.

Does that sound possible?

Because four modules need to be coded for anti-dazzle, it’s possible some modules have not been reverted to original software by the dealer. It’s not advisable to run the lights this way since it may have undesired effects. Get your hands on E-Sys and reach out to some remote coders here on the forum for assistance if you’re not comfortable tackling it yourself.

I agree. I'm going to get e sys and a cable and dive in.

Anyone have more information on the four modules and what needs to be changed? I know about the FA changes since they are on cheat sheets but the other module changes are harder to find
