Stolen M4 - Sydney

If you guys see a white M4 in your area let me know.

Rego DYK49S - it's a fully optioned 2015 model including Comp exhaust.

Last checked in was the M5 on Fairfield Road according to my e-Tag.

GPS tracking has already been disabled on the car so unfortunately, I can't track the car.

I wish it was. The guy broke into my house and stole my car keys (along with my wife's keys too).

So now I have to deal with changing the locks in our house as well.

I'm assuming from your response that you had your car nicked too? What a horrible feeling hey.

How long did the police take to track down the SIM? The police told me that that's their course of action as well, besides getting BMW to try to activate GPS location manually.

A mates X5 was taken from the street in front of their house whilst they both slept. Didn't disable the connected drive gps tracking and he could see them on the app and where they were heading for 3 days. Ironically, the police couldn't get BMW Australia's connected drive / privacy team to hand over location data until the car was long gone even with consent!

He had it stolen using the remote key proxy method where the key was within 20 metres of the car or so and they use a laptop to read and retransmit the signal to unlock and start the car. $20 signal blocking bag solves the issue for all these keyless cars but not a break and enter.

Sorry for the loss.

this is obviously quite concerning because from a customer standpoint, BMW should be willing to assist the police in any way to give any information available regarding the whereabouts of a stolen car, especially if the police have issued some sort of search warrant?

I hope BMW will be cooperative... it's already been 6 days since the car was nicked so the longer this goes on, my guess is that the harder it will be to track the car down.
