Carbon spoilers, M-Performance VS M4cs and why
M-Performance vs M4cs carbon spoiler which and why......
I kinda like the cs bit it looks like a afterthought IMOP. The front is nice but the rear....well curious what others think I think they should have designed it like the RKP spoiler I had on the M2 and wrap around the back of the trunk lip slightly |

m performance is nicer than every spoiler option in my opinion.
High kick photographs well but in person can look ghetto unless the build suits it (big diffuser, lowered etc) CS only looks good on a CS to me idk why |

Aerodynamics
Just googled this after reading the OP. Cosmetic or functional - depends how fast you drive.
Personally, I chose the 3-D Style for everything less the trunk which is CS Style. This guys is pretty entertaining. Too much coffee?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXjiThF1LXU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Woq-nl9QyfQ |

Yeh I thought that at first as well and almost turned it off. But I stuck it out and started to enjoy his over the top presentation, some of which was actually pretty funny (if you like stupid gag humour).
Here's a version just for you!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GApwSjKYUpQ Last edited by No.401_Speed; 10-05-2020 at 06:38 PM.. |

Both add functional downforce, I believe the cs one provides more downforce.
You should consider the choice in unison with any choice of front aero, some people have created very bad aerodynamics in handling and learned the hard way by being careless. I'm guessing the cs rear spoiler was specifically engineered to match the rest of the aerodynamics on the cs. I can't stand how it looks though. Instead of following the beautiful lines of the m performance rear spoiler by going around the corner of the bootlid, it just sits right on top in a plain way and that makes it look like an average spoiler. |

CS Spoiler
Apples or oranges
Blondes or redheads Sedans or coupe Which is better is irrelevant. It's no more than a matter of personal preference, unless your an engineer, which I am not. To me, it's a beautiful sight. To me, your choice I might not prefer. But I would respect you enough not to tell you to your face that your wife, car, or spoiler was ugly. That's why we have a million models of cars and who really needs them? OK, here it is. My CS spoiler. Go ahead and denigrate it, cuss it and tell the world how bad it looks. Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings or the feelings of the thousand other guys who have chosen this particular design. We all still prefer it and likely wouldn't waste our breath talking about any other design, because we respect the other guys right to like something else. I love these pointless discussions! I'm comfortable with my preferences being challenged but I guess not everyone is. People asserting their opinions that challenge yours, shouldn't be confused for disrespect or a challenge to your right to your opinions.
No reason why there couldn't be a high quality discussion about design if people wanted to take it there instead of arguing about how pointless it is. It's great to hear different perspectives and it's worth it for me to attempt to engage at a level beyond "you like that fullstop I dislike that fullstop" because I often find I learn something worthwhile and interesting. |

I have no experience with AP but can comment on Sterckenn products. Yes, they are $$$ but the quality is on point. I have their "fangs" on my F80 and my good friend has the trunk spoiler. If you have the funds and don't want to be concerned w/fitment or quality...pull the trigger.

And to me it looks like the best lip for the M3 so far, everyone is different. I have a CS front and back on my stockish looking M3 (basic CF sideskirts and M diffuser, drop) and everyone I know likes it, get plenty of good comments at lights/ gas stations from other car guys

I love my CS spoiler. Best one IMO. I waited a couple years to get a used OEM one. Besides getting springs, best $400 I spent on my car.
