It is legit that bad. So at least with that, most of what RL has been saying has been right about the 4RS’s drone problem. The drone is very bad with valves open. With it closed, it was fine, no issues at all. Local roads and street driving was fine with valves open. That was no real issue, freeway was different. I don’t know if changing the cup2r out for 4S would help but I am tempted to try. I know if I have some issues and minor headache from this, there is no way my gf can handle it. Though, I should point out I did not selfshift on the freeway, so I maybe able to get around it but I’ll have to see. It was extremely easy to dodge the drone in the GT4/Spyder. Valves open, self shift to avoid 2k - 3k rpm. Since most of the drone is from the cylinder deactivation. 4RS is more difficult if the drone really does happen at 4k to 5k. That’s literally in the middle of the RPM band. Overall though, my drive home was amazing. 9/10. I just have to figure out if this drone is really going to be a problem or not in the future. Probably figure that out with more experience with her. Edit: I should add, this has been my first real drive, I could get used to it and it won't bother me but I'm not sure. I will have to see but so far, the drone, on the freeway with valves open definitely is a bit of an issue. Also, that's my detailer's GTS 4.0 in the back

OH hey, there is something else I forgot to mention.
I cannot power fold the side mirrors in the 4RS. There is literally no way to do it because the button isn't present. Porsche removed the motor in the mirror to rotate it... soo that was something. I always fold my mirrors when I park. Guess I can self fold my mirrors...

Just be warned, it’s illegal to drive a motor vehicle with both earbuds in your ear (…27400 CVC), so if a law enforcement officer observes you and feels like conducting a traffic stop, you’ll likely receive a citation for that. It’s very easy to see white or colored earbuds from a distance, so keep an eye out. I notice these violations all of the time, I just don’t cite for it. |

Of course, I am hoping I won't have to use any ear plugs but if there is no way around it then I may have to. That or just... drive with exhaust valves closed when I am on the freeway.

Hear me out fellas…..
….so, I know I must sound like a neurotic female regarding my modification direction, but I’m having second thoughts about the TECHART ducktail. The more I look at my car, the more I feel like that particular ducktail may not go with the flow of my car due to the wheels I’ve chosen. That particular spoiler is rather tall and I’m just really uncertain. I started circling back to the OEM AeroKit wing or just leaving the exterior of the car as is (…especially considering I really like the rear end more with the new decklid). I am wondering if the $9,000+ for the wing - before paint and install - might instead be better allocated toward a pair of GT3/918 carbon buckets for my car since I really want those…….if I can find a pair for $10,000-ish. I ordered more interior leather upgrades from Exclusive Design since it’s something I see/notice immediately, so I think I might get more satisfaction with the buckets. What do you guys think about changing directions? |

But…….how about keeping that money and saving it towards a GT3? That is really what you want. Hoping that doesn’t come across sounding like an ass. Otherwise, do whatever you feel like, the aero pack will look awesome with the current mods. I can’t comment the buckets as I got rid of my CGTS 4.0 because of them. I’m old as sh!$ and got a ‘Vette for that reason. |

The fact is, you will probably be more happy with a GT3 itself than trying to turn your car into one and there are a few GT3s out for sale right now. DTLA have 3 themselves, one is a 2018 GT3 touring w/ buckets and 6speed. They also have 2 992 GT3 Tourings too but higher in price. https://www.porschedowntownla.com/us...430522305b.htm If you have spent so much in trying to mod your car but realized you just prefer having the real deal then, it might not be worth continue to do so if you are starting to have second thoughts. The way I have gone about things like this have been, if you aren't sure of something, or you are starting to 2nd guess yourself then don't do it. That just means you are trying to find reasons to go through with modding. I'm not trying to force you to buy another car but if you are second guessing yourself about it, then your mind is sort of inching into one anyway. You were waiting for a GT3 allocation originally to begin with. Oh, the bucket conversion might cost more to do then just 10k I think. though, I am not sure. I prefer the touring style over the 992 GT3 looks, but that is me.

Me too, and it’ll be half the price of the TECHART. I would avoid the hassle with the wiring harness since I actually like the set-up of the GT3 Touring deck lid and wouldn’t want to use the wing’s third brake light; I would probably just paint over it when I get the wing painted.

Yeah, $10,000 seems like small pennies when ADM’s are still atmospheric. All of the GT3’s around here are $260k-350k. |

Also, with respect to the TechArt wing, If you're not quite sold on it, I'd skip it b/c it's a damn expensive piece. You can also go Moshammer ducktail for substantially less money too. But, of course, I am partial to the aerokit wing and I already showed you my photoshop of my car w/ aerokit wing and 300 classics. Looks perfect IMO! |

Arcades, you need to go to the track. The GT4RS is not a car made for the streets. No complaining about how loud the engine is or how there is no power fold for the side view mirrors, please.
This is the natural environment for a GT4RS and how it should get there.

I had a fun test drive yesterday... it definitely feels like a barge compared to the 991 I drove there, but it's an amazing Jekyll & Hyde machine. You can be cruising one minute, then hit the V button and it's a race car that can lap VIR faster than a GT4, 991 GT3, M3 CS, etc.
