Hypothetical Question
Lets say I get my hands on a pair of M5 front brakes would I technically be able to use the stock M3/4 front brakes in the rear (I like big brakes)
Hypothetically.....

Having in mind necessary labour and parts, I think it doesn't make much sense (costwise) trying to use the M5 brakes unless you get them for free.
The mounting bolt distance of the front and rear calipers is different, so a custom adapter would be necessary, if at all possible, to mount the stock front calipers in the rear. Don't know if the front disc will fit the rear, you'd have to measure the height of both discs. If the stock brakes disappoint you (they did disppoint me in terms of stoppping power), an upgrade of braking pads is the way to go. I changed to Ferodo DS2500 pads F&R and the difference is night and day comparing to stock, still very daily drivable, minimum squeeling. If that should prove insufficient to you, then I'd go with a Brembo GT kit or the BMW carbon-ceramic retrofit. |

I had DS2500's on my evo X and they were awesome... But yes from what ive read the stock brakes on the F8x are the weakest link... I just couldn't find it in me(or my wallet) to check that 8k ccb option. Maybe stoptech or AP racings radical kit would do the trick for less... but i still would prefer those gold calipers with iron rotors and it would be the least costly option also... A vendor here offers this kit for the previous M3 but not the current one even though the gold brakes are F8x calipers. Hope in time its offerd as akit for the F8x

manticor what does the E92 kit look like
Yeah I just like the look of the bigger caliper and rotor but don't want to pay the price for CCB or the cost to maintain them lol
