I had the ccb brakes on my car stock. The previous owner swapped to steel brakes with his friend. I bought the ccb calipers and M2 400/380 discs for these and drove for a while with that setup but i felt that the car behaved worse than with the stock blue steel brakes because of the increased weight so i did a deal with my friend who bought an M3 with carbon brakes so we swapped discs as he mostly was intrested of the looks with the gold calipers.
When i compared the weight of the carbon discs and pads with the steel the difference was a whopping 46 pounds! That's a lot of unsprung weight to move around for the suspension and to brake, turn and accelerate!

Aren't Girodisc 2 piece rotors a much better option in terms of cooling, weight and cost?

The red kit in the link (few posts above) costs 4.5k. Girodisc fronts + rears are 1200 + 1300 = 2500 only.
