Cruising Speeds better than going fast?

I'm slowly discovering that I enjoy cruising speeds with my M4 Comp than going fast. The burbling noises echoing throughout the neighborhoods are what do it for me. Going fast just makes me nervous and only really safe in the track atmosphere. From now on it's nothing above 65 mph for me. I wait the forum's wrath.

I feel like this car is at its best at speed. Low speed is cool, but high speed is where I feel like this chasis shines.

Take it to the track. You’ll never look at driving the same.

I can resonate with OP - more of a slow and steady guy instead of hauling ass at jail like speeds down the highway.

Now i havent tracked the M yet... so things may change.

65 on the freeway in the left lane?
Or, 65 over the posted speed?

I’m more tuned into the second.

I injoy some quick pulls to 70 or so in the right highway environment, but I completely get you OP. Its probably a combination of age, maturity and having been around long enough to see that some really bad things can happen when people play stupid games on the highway. I do like going slowly through town and hearing the exhaust burble reverberate off the buildings.

This right here, the car was built for the track, after about 8 months off ownership, I felt the same way you do. A great cruiser with a lot of power when you need it. Until I went to my first track day, man does the car comes alive on the track, it was the first time I even seen the shift lights at redline, the car is so much fun on the track, even the dct seems smoother on the track. If you never track your car before, it's totally worth it.

Same here OP.

I want the car to get noticed and that can't happen if I zoom by all these other plebs. /s

I enjoy just getting the car out in the middle of nowhere and just cruising. nothing like a scenic drive with what i call aggressive cruising(staying around the speed limit with revs up and varying speed).

Long commute to work, 78 mph middle lane which is slow in So Florida. No need to stare at WAZE or freak out if Radar beeps. I pass Troopers all day long and never worry. I do agree it's a track car. But I need better brakes and spare track tires.

It looks cooler just cruising but I've got too much ADD for that.
I need some action

I would never say its better cruising. Its acceptable, given realities of driving on public roads.

It's definitely it's own pleasure, especially with an aftermarket exhaust, but opening this car up is just too fun. It comes to life like a beast when you keep it in the higher rev range.

It's a gentleman's cruiser/animal when it needs to be. I've done several long road trips and it's happy no matter the speed. Just rolling on it in 6th is plain pleasurable. Plus, at 90(in stock config) when the valves open it's almost like vtec. Looooong time
Honda guy.... There isn't many cars ever seen that accelerate in such a fashion as the M in top gear.

I think this car has a GT vibe inside. It's the driver's decision to drive it like a track car or a comfort GT car.

I also cruise my car but I will admit in between shifts I go above 5,000 RPM with the car in Sport mode just so I can hear the 1 pop from the exhaust as it shifts. Sounds so good with the windows down.
