I just checked the price on new Bosch injectors for the S55 and I was shocked. $90 per injector from fcp euro.

N54 (my former platform) injectors cost close to $300 each.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the injectors since they are rather inexpensive.

The hpfp on the other hand… that is the expensive repair on these S55 cars since you need to buy two hpfps :/

Oh I wouldnt worry too much about the cost of the injectors. But I would definitely be concerned about one failing during a run and losing the engine. nice to see they're on the cheap side though, I know what you mean about the old N54 injectors and the 129484 different indexes.

If an injector failed, wouldn't the DME detect knock and shut down that cylinder/limp mode the car?

Definitely, can and does. Sometimes just doesn't do it on time and then poof.

Sorry to revive and old thread.

Finally went through that purple grape stuff for alcohol fuel. I was using as top lube and about to start my first mix of HOT SHOT Lubricity on my car tonight.

So I see this on their website.

TREAT RATIO
For pump diesel, treat rate is 1 ounce per 10 gallons to meet and exceed the EMA recommended 460 micron wear scar.

(For VP Racing Torq DX, treat rate is 1 ounce per 2 gallons to achieve a 461.5 micron wear scar.)

So how much to mix with a full tank of pump E85?

1.333 oz to 15 gallons or 7 oz to 15 gallons?

I mix around 1.5 to 2.0 oz per full tank. I just eyeball it at the gas pump and add it before pumping e85
