VRSF intake feedback?
Hello everyone! I just wanted to see if anyone has installed the VRSF engine bay intake (not front mounts). I see they are selling for only $220 and I would really like some feedback from someone who has them installed. Picture from google is attached of the intakes I'm talking about. Any advice/review would be much appreciated! Thanks guys.

I have them on my M2C and they sound great. Fitment was great and I could not be more happy with them. Get ready for serious induction sound. My wife has no idea I have already modded the car but immediately asked the next day what the sound was. I had to tell her the car must be breaking in. Keep in mind the window were up and I can't drive hard with her in the car. It seems to me that as you break them in they gain a little sound as well. As for performance I couldn't tell as I also have VRSF catless down pipes and STG2 BM3. The car is beast mode both in sound and agility. I am patiently awaiting release of VRSF midpipe for M2C as I have been highly impressed by both the quality and fitment of their products for a fraction of the price the competition offers. If you have any interest in intakes I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on these. |

The main drawback of these will be heatsoak. If you plan to do dynoruns or laps around the track, these will create losses in power compared to stock ones. But they sound nice, especially for the price. |

***They sound great. *** As far as get what u pay for (typical parrot analogy), VRSF products are very high quality and they offer quality parallel to the competition at a fraction of the price. I'm not overpaying to try to make power from..... intakes lol. Same guys talking bout power who scared to step up to STG2. They spend 2500 on a cf intake and scared to spend 3500 on a turbo upgrade. VRSF needs to make a midpipe for M2C. Who can get them a car for mock up is the question. |

“Placing the filters behind the grills increases induction sound and prevents heat soak from the radiant heat in the engine bay.” So why would they claim heat soak a consideration? Is it real or made-up? This isn’t about VRSF component quality, it’s about the placement. The pro’s are price And less modification needed to fit them vs. the front mounts. |

Just letting u know what mike said to answer your question. Additionally they get a lot more dirty sitting up front and clogging them up. Even Venturi developed their kit within the bay. U took it to quality based on the "you get what you pay for" comment. In either case. You don't buy intakes for dramatic power increases. If u desire the sound u buy them. |

It's hard to grasp why one would move from a sealed airbox to an open air design. Pop your hood after a long drive and feel different materials and see what holds heat longer - a plastic airbox or metal pipes. The same exact gains can be had installing a set of BMC filters and chucking the charcoal liners in the stock airboxes - without the whooshing noises. Front mount intakes that block airflow to the radiator is a whole different story.

Just installed my VRSF intakes. Left side was a tight fit trying to get the MAF from not hitting the CF brace. If the MAF housing was placed more to the right like some of the other intakes it would be good. Other than that I like them, has a sweet SWOOSH sound :0, But like Tom was saying, they definitely get hot if your just if you're in stop and go traffic.
