2017 M3 ZCP - Mineral Grey!

Folks,

ORIGINAL DATE: April 4, 2017

The amount of time I spent on these forums, it is only fair that I share my new toy here as well.

Back in 2011, I started with 2011 328i xdrive classic bare bones alpine white with black interior. Got the mod bug and started playing around with it, from Lux angel eyes, coding, eibach springs and finally new wheels every season. The best however was the performance exhaust and the M-tech steering wheel. Absolutely loved it, especially the exhaust on NA engine.

Finally I realized, it's time to make a jump onto more power and turbo engine, after four years came the 2015 435i xdrive gran coupe EBII with red interior. Absolutely love the shape of gran coupe although I know some disagree. Spec'd is as I wanted including MPPK and MPE. Loved the burbles! Ride height was insane so had to lower it as well on ACS spring.

Ofcourse had to lower the 4x4 which made it look so much more sexier. Sadly, didn't get a chance to take any decent pics when it was lowered since I was already thinking about the next one LOL

And here's one more:

I did enjoy the car for a year and a few months but then started realizing that something is missing. I actually missed my E90 more. Maybe it was the firm steering or the exhaust note. The F36, while a great car, even in sports mode the steering felt super soft. The car is super fast but just didn't feel like I was driving the same line of BMWs. Hence I started asking questions whether I should keep this, consider a used M, consider a new stripper M to save on cost (no need for PDC, HUD or even rear camera - although I know I wanted them badly lol). And so I started looking and looking more into it and thought, while it is a big jump... YOLO. Just kidding, but wanted to give it a shot before family grows more (you'll see Fllo in appear in one of the pics).

In February 2017 was it born and delivered on March 18th!

2017 M3
Mineral grey / SO extended
Competition package
HUD
Rear view camera
PDC
LED lights
Apple Carplay

Did I go over budget? Yes lol but I really wanted the competition package. Did I want the full leather, yes as well but I had to stop somewhere and that's where I drew the line.

Now the car is still in the break-in period so I haven't even put it in sports (can I do it?). And it's still on the winter tires.

Speaking of winter tires, I like the 666 wheels. Very exclusive. I absolutely love the Vorsteiner VFF103. So I'm using that set for winters lol. Canada has 6-months of winter, might as well make it look all nice

Let's see how this one does in a few months! And now onto the pictures:

UPDATE: February 6, 2018 (Fixed links above and adding more pictures) - Still love this beast!!!

Today I'm driving an F30 430i loaner car, it's the first F30 I've driven. It has 1,400 miles on it, so it's a brand new car (no excuses about it being a beaten old loaner). I was surprised how light and non-linear the steering felt compared to my F80. The whole car is much less sporty than I thought it would be. It's a fine conveyance - competent, easy to drive, comfortable, but it's not exciting or very fun to drive.

In comparison, (without getting into a whole review) I'm blown away by my M3. I love it even more than I thought I would.

Congrats on your M3.

Agreed completely. I do think the 435 was an excellent car. It's just not like the M3.

No spacers. They customize offsets for F80 fitment.

Well itrocks4, PhilH, I know that opinions is what everyone has but I would like my quick input as my wife has the MY16 435i GC. From what I hear, the electric steering on the M3 and M4 are non road feel what's so ever. That with my experience with the wife's car, means that it's the same steering feel wise. The M must be a whole different world between the two though. Maybe you guys just like the M because of the M?

In any case, I love the car iTrocks4. Beautiful ride and great choice going with the M3. Have you seen the VFF-107? Those are nice too. At one point, I was contemplating between the 103, 106, or the 107.

I see your point. I never had the previous gen M3 so I can't compare the steering feel. I did have the E90 and that was a firm steering compared to the 435 GC. At high speeds, it would stiffen up but it was to soft for me in general terms. I have less than 1000km on the M3 so I can't really tell how great it is. But compared to the 435, I do like it being firm and stiff (twss).

VFF 107s are stunning. I like them more than Vff 103s. If I was paying full price, I would definitely go for 107s, but i got a good deal on used set of 103s.

Beautiful car! My F30 335i was MG/Coral Red and it's a great color combo. I couldn't find an MG/SO in 6mt in my area when I stepped up to the M3 so I settled on BSM/Black, which is nice but I do miss MG.

Congrats and good luck with your break-in period. I'm at 500 miles and the wait is killer.

Oh, no wonder. I would go with the 103 too if I got a discount. Make sure you take more pictures and share them. I am pretty sure we all would like to see more pictures as we all are enthusiasts.
