Coding would need to be performed in your area by a local coder. The fields needed to change are listed in the DIY.

These are OEM BMW parts, shouldn't have any issues with warranty.

Dealer can perform the install, but you will still need the custom harnesses and someone to code.

Unfortunately not, dealerships do not have access to this type of coding.

Check in the coding threads or regional section in F30Post since its a bit more active on the coding side, I'm sure there's someone in your area that will be wiling to help.

What would happen if this were done without the wiring update, and were just plugged in?

Also, to get the rear fog functioning, do you need a new light control switch?

The connectors between 2015 and 2016 are different, the harness is needed.

We have a DIY on rear fogs here, no additional parts are needed: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1023817

@tom, my wife has a '16 3 series. I am going to swap the tail lights from her 2016 to my 2015 M3. What will I need to do to reverse the process on the 16 so I don't get any kind of error codes?

Since a PnP harness is required for the Pre-LCI to LCI conversion, a different one (which doesn't exist) would be needed for the "downgrade".

MY16+ simply doesn't enforce BulbCheck, since LEDs have such a long lifespan. No coding would be required unless you wanted to re-enable BulbCheck.

Thanks for the reply. What about just completely swapping the connectors from car to car?

MY16s are already equipped with LCI lamps, but couldn't resist posting this Laguna Seca M3 with newly activated rear fogs:

I have a 2015 M3 and coded the rear fogs and rear outer daytime running tail lamps. Will I have to re-code these again with the new 2016 LCI tail lamps?

I asked this question in another thread. Based on the responses received, it seems the coding will stick.

However, you will need to code out the build-check to make the LCI tails function properly. Similar to the rear fogs, you can do this coding ahead of time as well.

It depends on your i-level compared to the update as to whether coding will overwrite the REM module or not.

Either way, it's simple to reload if it is accidentally wiped out.

Do you guys have any installation instructions for the F31?
Also can you please explain what the point of the blue wire on the left side is that runs from the inner to the outer tail light position?
Thanks

What exactly do the other coding values do? I know FRA_H_L etc. are for the turn signals. What are NSL, BFD, and RFS?
