Not always.

I know for some dealerships that the listings aren't really there either. Meaning the car has already been sold. I will be extremely surprised if even half of those lists are still technically active.

The thing about the 991 GT3, they were kind of unpopular for the main reason that the .1 didn't have an manual option. That was a huge sticking point to Porsche fanboys until the .2 versions rectified it. Then of course we have the mass engine recall that messed with them. Porsche did the right thing of course but that hit the resale. That is why you see the .1 GT3 with so many former owners. Those cars especially get scalped left and right because of it. And then on top of ALL of that, the 991 GT3 were made in abundance so there are indeed far more of them.

I don't regret waiting for my 718 GT4. I just oddly prefer it for some reason, even over the former .1 or .2 991 GT3.

I have a paint-to-sample GT3 touring that some say can fetch $80k over MSRP if I sold it. I don't really want to try to find out…
992s are having 1-2 year waitlists right now.

Your touring would 100% sell that much over MSRP. Just look at BAT, and the recent sales threads on Rennlist.
You're right, which is why I don't want to pursue it for fear someone makes me an offer I can't refuse. Trouble is, what would I replace it with??

Another, better touring, which will cost more…. So never sell!

No. Its talking about 405 and I5 being littered with camps that are continually starting on fire and strewn with trash.
I drove down the coast on US 101. A perfect driving day. Great roads down here

Nick Murray more/less breaks it all down, including the ramp up of used prices

did that a few weeks back - gotta say, the Oregon coast (going south) rivals just about any coastal drive I've done in the US or Europe including Hawaii; pretty incredible.

Overall I still prefer HWY 1 if I was going to pick but it's damn beautiful and some fun driving.

I think he is missing one important thing, and that's that all these manufacturers are focusing on EVs now. So we are in the swan song of high performance ICE dev. I think certain cars, GT3s etc may settle a bit from the current craziest but they won't dip to below COVID levels even after things recover.

Best dune riding I’ve done. I have a STRONG disdain for all things pnw, except those southern Oregon dunes.

Agreed - the sad part is you can’t get the performance ICE car that you want even if you have the money to buy one now whether its a regular 911, V8 AMG, Corvette etc. Forget about GT3, Huracan or any new mid-engine Ferrari.

Its a perfect storm of limited supply plus the move away from ICE to EV. New Cayman/Boxster is said to be fully EV in 2025 without ICE option. So forget about doing upgrades to exhaust, headers etc.

Drive was supposed to be Hwy 1 for Monterrey car week but some family stuff came up. Next year I hope!

I am not going to lie I saw a dark grey (maybe Dravit?) G82 competition with dark tinted windows in pouring rain today on the freeway and it didn't look all that bad. What is odd is I saw a dark grey F82 M4 (Dinan badge, exhaust and wheels) about 5 minutes prior which looked dated compared to the new one I saw shortly thereafter.

The sea of metal in the rear quarter above the rear wheel bothers me the most, I think. Then the prolapsed bumper.

This just in, new thing looks newer!

Hate the saying "it looks dated," what does it mean anyway? Does it look worse just because it's previous generation?

Look how short and puny the front end looks on that G82

What a fucken ugly car! The F82 looks well balanced and not "outdated" at all!

Demagogue Duke would've fucked it all up even worse if the G82 looked older than the F82.

I don't think the G82 looks particularly fresh and modern next to an F82 LCI. E92 to F82 was a bigger jump in that regard.

Holy shit that design language difference.

F82; Flows into form, with the lines following the entire car making it look fast at a standstill

G82; Lines begins and stops multiple times, seems bulky but shorter, almost compressed compared to the previous generation

E30 M3 looks old too but it's not dated.
It's one beautiful car.

That said the F8X neither looks old or dated to anyone who doesn't know that new thing is the follow up.

OMG that may be the BEST post this thread has produced!

Let's break that down: The G82, in dark grey, in pouring rain, doesn't look "that bad"; So the highest looks bar the G82 can cross is the lowest possible bar.

"you know, if I'm drunk, and it's dark & raining, and I put a dress on her, and she doesn't oink too much, she's doesn't look all that bad!"

If only there were allocations for Miss Piggy!

Wow, see the prices going for used G82 and G80s lately? The 90k the dealer sold mine for was a steal! Wtf is going on in the auto business and who is paying this kind of money? Shit is completely unhinged at this point!

I screwed up buying that ugly ass car, then I screwed up selling in early August! Who the hell could have known! Plus, the semi conductor situation is getting worse! I bet I could get 95k for it now!

Woe is me lol
