Dealer refused to sell car.
Ok, so I have a CP M4 on order in mineral grey and it not due till arrive till the last week of November and just like many of you waiting it's really starting to give my itchy feet worse then when the missus was pregnant with my son. Anyway I was driving past my dealer today and noticed he had a YMB M4 non CP in the showroom so I went in to have a closer look. I really like the colour and it had the same options as the one I ordered just not a CP. So I was standing there thinking to my self should i just take this its here no waiting I can collect it tomorrow and job done was not that fussed that it was not a CP.
So anyway my dealer came over and I asked him if I could take this one and be done with. Firstly he told me that he had to find out if it was allacated to another dealer so he wandered of came back 10 mins later and told me basically in a nutshell that he wouldn't sell me that car at the same deal as my factory order and rather turn me away and sell it to someone else at less discount. His reason was not enough physical stock around. And if I was not happy I could go else where. Felt a bit gutted.

If your car is not due to arrive until the last week of November it is very likely not in production and I see no reason you shouldn't be able to cancel the order.
That said, your story seems to be a bit full of holes. Perhaps you could tell us what your options were, what your negotiated price was, and why exactly your car is expected in November to start? That's a ways off.

The dealer tells me it's not due till last week of November and that's all I know! He said I could cancel the order just would not give me the same discount on the stock car which works out to about 18%. |

All depends what you're willing to pay to get a car 4 months earlier, I can understand the dealers decision he wants to see what he can get for the car before having to offer a bigger discount it'll be on a 100 day consignment deal.

Yeah I guess your right. I just thought that being a stock car they might have done the same deal even though it's a cheaper car.

I was given an order number on my paperwork as soon as the dealership ordered my car with the brand.... so I would certainly ask your dealership what yours is... you will need to quote this if you decide to ask the online BMW genius team any queries prior to delivery... I'm glad I checked as my dealer had somehow forgotten to add one of my options to the car, even though they had confirmed via email/phone that it was on the order...

Is the stock car new or pre-registered? If you're happy to have a non-ZCP car then there are plenty of pre-registered ones about at an even bigger discount than your new order.
