Exactly.

What is the percentage of people that go to smog checks with their downpipes still on and stage 2 running?

If you don't have the money/time to flash and/or re-install you shouldn't have tuned in the first place.

This assumes you are stock and no addt'l mods? I would think that there would be issues going to stock tune if you have exhaust and intake mods that require a different mapping.

Maybe this is geared more towards brodozers rolling coal…

Which if it is then I’d gladly welcome that in Texas.

Or worse… A mustang that has a smaller blower pulley installed creating more boost that's requiring a custom tune or you might blow your motor. I suppose you could soft pedal it to the smog station and stay out of the boost. Just one more reason why California sucks.

I’m talking about only testing for trucks that can “roll coal”.

Yet another volley in California's ongoing battle to annoy car enthusiasts out of existence. This state hates and does its best to punish people who drive cars already; the fact that some people actually enjoy cars is just beyond what they can tolerate. I'm working hard towards getting the hell out of this psychotic state and I'm getting more anxious for that with every passing day.

Or move to california if a minor inconvenience is enough for you to want to enact legislation…..? Lmao :

So rolling coal is an inconvenience? I'm confused…

I guess let me clarify that my OPINION is rolling coal should be illegal, not simply ECU changes for performance gains.p should be illegal. If a tail pipe blows out a literal cloud of black smoke that lingers in the air, it should be illegal no matter what state you live in.

So should Volcanoes be illegal, forest fires, tire smoke, and electrical plants that still burn coal to heat water and create steam moving a turbine and creating electricity? I think rolling coal and engine tuning are the least of our worries.... These measure our just a means to point your head in a different direction while other legislation is passed and rarely if at all do they actually cause change. I,ll be all behind a bill that replaces coal with nuclear until then please leave the minority group of car enthusiasts who modify their cars out of this equation as compared to society as a whole we've yet to cause a big enough dent on global warming. Show me the graph that say's modified cars are the root cause that increased the world temperature by 1 degree....
