I think that the garage door opener integration will be a much cleaner install, with less wires running across the dash. We need a diagram of the wires inside that unit.

ProDemand (Mitchell) doesn't have 2014 F30/F32 or F80/F82 wiring diagrams yet ... once they load them I will post the wiring diagrams for the F80/F82 pin-outs for 12v + and GND connections switched power source behind the mirror/homelink

I did mine the same way as the F30 install... Mirror tap with the 0.040" taps in the auto dimming connector. Works great and took 5 minutes - totally reversible.

Ok so now we have both a coding and laser detector install in our near future for my F80. Are you planning on going to Bimmerfest East on Aug 2nd? Maybe that would be a good day to meet up for this? I will be bringing a pop up tent this year and parking near grass so there is space for grilling in the shade.

Looking forward to seeing more info in this thread, I plan on buying a V1 and it will be my first radar so I have no idea on what is the best way to install it and hide the cables

I wired mine to the mirror yesterday and I followed these directions. I can confirm that this works with the lane changing camera.

I just installed the VA using the Savvy.... totally convinced it is the only way to go. To me a whole 10 minutes to install 9.5 minutes to route and conceal the wire

I bought this mirror tap and this blend mount mirror mount and followed these directions on my M4 and it all works. I sent a picture of my mirror to blend mount and they told me to buy this mount. It all works great!!!

Since we cant tap into the glove box anymore, is there any way to direct wire install a detector on the dash on a F80? (I dislike the mirror mount).
It's sounds stupid but my custom installer couldn't figure it out without tearing everything apart.... |

Figured I would post up a quick pictorial here -
Valentine 1 with Blend Mount and Wire Tap Pictorial Stock mirror without Blend Mount Wire Tap Remove mirror cover and unclipped wires for easier access to ground the power Testing the unit to make sure it powers on and shuts off before putting it all back together. All buttoned back up with wire hanging Unpacking the Blendmount Uses the Valentine 1 clip/mount After playing around with the adjustments - all mounted up Close up Love the set up! Tell me if I'm wrong though it does limit the adjustment of the mirror? |

Clean install!
Need some help... How did you remove the mirror cover? Also, do you have the lighting package and rain speed sensor? I ask, because I think that changes the type of mirror you have. I could be crazy. Anyways, Thanks! Quote:
