Mineral White vs Alpine White - Side by Side Pictures

Was at my dealer today to test drive the F80 M3 once last time to make up my mind As I was waiting I saw a 2013 MW E92 with only 3k miles on it parked in their showroom. Next to it was an Alpine white SUV. Granted it is not a color comparison between similar models but this gives a really good idea of how different they are. Personally for me, I have already decided on Alpine White. This is to help out folks who want to see the difference. Ofcourse nothing beats seeing them in person but this should give you an idea as well

The last picture is the AW M3 I test drove. Was a blast

I agree. I chose Alpine White over Mineral White when I was at the dealership and compared them side by side. I personally like the brighter white over the off-white.

That aside by side isn't accurate you have to see it on a actual f80. AW looked better on e90 I agree. F80 line are way harder and MW compliments the lines way better. E90 lines where not as aggressive MW looks to feminine on e90. MW/carbon roof/black wheel is the 2nd sickest combo I've seen after YMB. I saw AW at dealer. It's so boring. MW on F80 make the lines of the car pop so much harder.

Plus look at the lighting difference of the pic you posted. Lol one has a blue hue and one a yellow.

It's the same lighting smart ass Both cars had three recessed yellow lights on top of it. When taking pictures lighting changes based on the angle and what the camera is seeing. Why do you think I took so many pictures? The camera adjusts based on lighting. I never understand why folks start becoming so defensive about one color or the other? The purpose behind this therad was to show both colors side by side as best as I could do using a camera. I also did state that it is best done in person.

MW looks very yellow cause of that light on t wall. Can't you see it? AW has nature light on it from that sky light. Not to mention two completely different cars. I'm not being a smartass. Just wouldn't use this as a judgment tool.

And you had to concentrate on that one picture didn't you? The left side of the M3 sees none of that yellow light. Anyways, why am i even bothering? Just go see it in person for yourself.

Seen f80 in both MW and AW. MW is much more suited to this car. You have to see it in person on a F80. Will really change your mind.

I saw both and picked AW, to me it looked much cleaner than MW. Just my opinion

After owning both MW and AW colors in the past, i prefer AW as well. I would go AW if i ordered an M3.

I'm considering both although I'm now leaning heavily towards AW. Can you give a little insight as to why you prefer AW after having owned both? Is it preference or is there anything else that leads you to that conclusion?

had an AW e92tt and it was beautiful... until you drove it and hit the brakes once then it looked like hell on the back. and also, after rain I'd have dark streaks running down the side from the mirrors.. hope they solved that.. I'd avoid white in the future even though i love how they look in white when clean.

I like AW but could easily live with MW. you are fooling yourself if you think most people would notice the difference (or care).

Just something to be aware of for anyone undecided on these colours- ..there is a forum member with MW F80 who is already experiencing the difficulty of trying to paint match MW. Took his car to his local BMW dealer after a rear end shunt and did not like the paint match after the repair- the shops response was that was the best they can do with this colour. I believe he's now having the whole rear end resprayed and the trunk to try and make the poor match less noticeable.

MW is almost impossible to paint match so if you get any scratches or minor damage at all be aware of this. I'll take Alpine.

So glad I went with AW then. I chose AW because I like it more anyway, but this is added bonus to know that I won't have mismatched colors - somthing that will annoy the helloutta me. With that being said, I still think MW looks very very cool. Hope there will be a solution soon for the MW owners.

Alpine white is a classic and goes well on ANY BMW but Mineral white is very nice on its own. I've owned both and love the MW much more. It really shines day and night where AW doesn't. Also, it doesn't have a yellow hue like the Lexus Starfire pearl. However, you can't go wrong with either, it all comes down to personal preference.
