Used E90 checklist

I spotted a Canadian 2006 325i Step w/Sport & Premium packs, original owner, new tires, 40000 miles for 26500$, 1 tax at 5 or 7% (instead of 2 at 12.8%)which compares to US price. It is a bit more millage than wished for, but the price is interesting. More of that because if I buy it in the US, I pay a custom of 6.1%,

MRSP of an equivalent 2008 328i with TTP is 52000$CAD at crazy BMW Canada.

In addition to normal wear, what specific item should I be aware and check for an early E90?

Not even sure if I should post this as you may make this out to be a bigger deal than it really is, but if the car was built prior to September 05 (like mine) and it doesn't have idrive, then there's some functionality on the stalk that you won't be getting.

Fer example, if I wanted to turn on DRLs, I'd have to go to the dealership to have the enabled (or disabled).

You might search for "pre-sept" you might find some more info.

Having said that, knowing that I have just a little less functionality than post-sept builds sure hasn't hurt my enjoyment one bit. Plus, there was a price increase at the same time, so I saved a little bit.

No real issues on my 06 E90.

I have one of the first builds (May 05) E90 325i... The car has been absolutely rock solid with no unscheduled visits to the dealership. The only thing I recommend is that you check that the wheels are true and straight. I've bent a couple of rims on my car hitting various road imperfections (horendous potholes).. Make sure the car doesn't have any vibrations what-so-ever when you are test driving it. Other than that, the E90 is a solid car.

40,000 miles or kms? If it's kms it almost seems suspiciously cheap. The MSRP would have been close to $50k CAD with those options, and the original buyer probably got no discount back then. I would make sure it hasn't been in any accidents, etc.
