Faster way to move coupe seats up?
Hi,
I've just picked up (yesterday) a new E92 335xi. LOVE IT!!!! Everything about it.... except... despite the fact the the rear seat is surprisingly pretty roomy, I find it quite an ordeal getting into it. I've got the premium and sports pkg (so sports seat) and the only way that I've seen so far, to move the seats up enough for someone to easily climb in to the back is that button that electronically moves the seat... which takes an eternity. Is there a quicker, maybe manual way of moving the seat up enough to make it eaiser for someone to climb in to the back seat? Thanks |

That is actually the quicker of the 2. The switch on the lower portion of the seat is a lot slower.

haha..and thats why i ordered manual seats in the coupe. the SA kept asking me why I wouldn't go power. It makes no sense in a coupe to have power.

I have the coupe and the power seats and the same issue. I knew it was goiing to be a pain when I bought the car but hey it's a small price to pay. Just have patience.

Why not use the handle at the top of the seat? Pull it and the back part of the chair shifts forward.

I hate to be obvious and I know why you bought the sexier coupe but if you regularly need access to the rear seat maybe the sedan would have been a better idea.
Thanks, Mike. |

The BIGGEST dissapointment about the manual seats is that the bottom REAR of the seat is the only part that adjusts in height. The front is fixed to be flat in relation to the rear. The thing for me is that I like to make a sort of bucket seat by lowering the back all the way and raising the front all the way with the power seats. But hey, if you don't like that cocoon feel then that's not too much of a biggie.

In Britain, full electric seats are an $1,800 dollar extra for the four cylinder 2 litre cars - I'm glad I didn't specify them as an option as you guys have confirmed my suspicions. In Scotland as some of you may know, it rains a lot and waiting for a seat to slowly move forward would be a real wet pain.

Ive Had +3 people in my car numerous times and i've never had that problem at all, just use the latch to fold seat forward and they go in no problem
a 5'10 Guy has been in the back, and mostly girls but i've never had to use the electronical buttons to move forward just for someone to get in the back |
