M2 production cycle 11/15-6/16
Disclaimer: Everything except the production cycle dates in this post should be retarded as conjecture and/or speculation.
While speaking at length with a BMW ///M rep who services multiple dealerships in the region we got to talking and he confirmed that the production cycle for the M2 was only 7 or 8 months long. When I asked him what he made of this fact, he suggested that it was possible the M2 could be released in limited quantities like the 1M and that the M2 could be an M4 killer. It could also be that they want to test the waters with an initial release. |

I doubt he knows any more than the rest of us, to be honest. He only knows what Germany tells him, and I don't think they're already talking about it just yet.

Eh, he can view the production cycle in the computer system. But past that you are absolutely right. Anything could happen.

They may have. I for one hope they continue to make the M2 indefinitely. I also hope they make the M2 a M4 killer.

You can fit a car seat on the back of the 2 as long as it's located in the middle rear seat

This is only if you have a base for the car seat.... if you have no base, then there is no seatbelt in the middle so you can't use it without base use the left anchor of the right seat, and the right anchor of the left seat Last edited by pikcachu; 03-03-2015 at 12:19 PM.. |

with the base in, you can use the seatbelts... i havent tried with the car seat on the base as people would be squeezed on the side seats but i don't see why it wouldn't work either

To be distinguished from what befell the 1M. As we know, the 1M production run was initially limited to 2,700 cars. BMW changed its mind during production (due to high public demand) and in the end 6,309 1Ms were made (2011-2012). The production increase was not scheduled in advance. Closest BMW competitor for the M2 = the M240i (model name change of the M235i).
