I was planning to dona second retropie setup on this one to use on the go or at friends place but never went thru with it (already had one setup at home for the same purposes) and didnt found other project to do with it.

Raspberry pi was not car related. It's possible to integrate in the car (lots of tutorial online not BMW specific) but you can use those small computer for unimaginable amount of stuff !

That iPhone cable, since it's the 4, it will work with the classic iPod. What's the benefit of it over a regular cable? Or is it just a regular cable lol

If it has the 30pin connector it should work. Its the regular cable that comes with the car (usb and aux plug to apple 30pin connector) great if you dont have it or lost it as you can control vianthe radio or idrive with the cable. Got an iphone 6 so its no use for me anymore.

I could do 20$+shipping (about 10$). Price is already pretty good as this cable retail for 75-90$ at the dealership.
